  1. A couple of years ago I was at tractor supply and I saw these cute little orange peppers called tangerine dream peppers. They look very similar to a jalapeno but they are this beautiful orange color. They grow on very short plants and these guys are productive considering their size. They would be perfect in a container because of their size. Their flavor is phenomenal, very sweet like almost sugar sweet and absolutely no heat. The only issue I had with them was assassin bugs, it seemed like those little plants attracted them, I didn't see any assassin bugs on any other plants. But my goodness did I enjoy those little peppers while I could. They are a must in every garden I grow. I think they are a hybrid pepper.

  2. Jess, pepper leaves are edible. Did if you knew that. I grow a variety of peppers for different uses. I make tamales, pico degalo, salsa, salsa verde and pickles (hot style) with them.

  3. Fresno is a new favorite, love my arroz con pollo for our black beans, Moscow was a pleasant surprise last year (we dehydrate and use for cooking), and my favorite jalapeño, and I’ve tried almost all, is megatron. Botanical interest sells it. But really, I’ll be honest, I haven’t met a pepper I couldn’t love 🥰

  4. I love to grow Thai chili peppers, Brazilian star fish peppers, Calabrian peppers, lemon drop pepper and cayenne peppers. They are all hot, showy and prolific. So last year I decided to not plant them in the garden that way I could have more room for veggies. I planted them in my large terracotta pots on the patio, thinking how beautiful they would be right where we all gather. I was so disappointed one day when I went out to water the peppers and found the pots all excavated and the plants lying lifeless on the ground. Some of the plants had the tops chewed off leaving only the stem without any leaves. I tried sticking some back in the soil, but to no avail they sadly didn’t make it. I had only grown two of each variety and wished I had grown more. Soooo I had no peppers last year. But, our yard sure had happy chipmunks!!

  5. Greetings from zone 6B, Finland! This year is my first summer attempting to grow peppers on our windowed balcony. The seedlings are small but I am having so much fun!

  6. I’m trying some hotter chillies this year as all the chillis I’ve grown and hot sauce I’ve made from them have all been too mild. My husband calls it mild sauce hahahah

  7. I almost didn’t watch your video, because you’re talking peppers. Lol
😂 I started my seeds a week and a half ago. I COULD NOT find my seedling heat mats, and those seeds had been in wet soil blocks. I just knew the seeds were going to rot. We eat LOTS AND ALL KINDS of peppers across the board.
I ended up ordering more mats, because well…you can never have too many anyway. The mats came in today. I Set them up, put my soil block trays on them and then Took a nap. Girl! 😲 When I awoke from my nap, five of those seeds had sprouted. Yayyyyy!!
I hope more will have sprouted when I check in the morning. I would just hate to need to buy more seeds rn. All of the good stuff is selling out fast! We are all about peppers the way you are about tomatoes. You name the pepper, we are probably growing it, except if it’s purple.

  8. My absolute must grow every year is Anaheim’s!!! I have a plant that is a few years old now and I just keep over wintering it and it’s thriving and living its best life.

  9. I love Jimmy Nardello, Anaheim, and Serrano (for salsa verde since jalapeños don't keep their heat after canning) peppers in addition to your list 😊🌶🩷

  10. Newly obsessed woth finding jalapeno hybrids. I'll have to try the 1 you listed. Must have orange habanero. My pickled peppers blend needs those. Hot bananna peppers. I like those fresh & pickled & roasted on a burger. Shishito simply roasted with lemon pepper & garlic.

  11. Ill be growing sugar Rush Peach sort of…its a sugar rush Carolina reaper cross and a Blood Sport pepper which is Poblano sugar rush peach cross🌶️ 😋

  12. Hey Jess, this is probably a weird ask, but do you have any favorite WWI, Great Depression, or WWII book recommendations ? I find myself more and more inspired by the resilience and grit that those older generations had. Any biographies or just interesting historical books that you’d suggest?
