  1. I recommend growing potatoes in developing leaf mold. They come out cleaner and it’s a nice way of using the heap of leaves as a temporary bed:)

  2. Hi Ben! I love yoùr energy, thank you very much for your inspiring and educational videos.Cheers from France ! Athéna.

  3. Hi ben ive sown sweet peppers, leeks, and onions indoors, but do they need light to germinate thanks

  4. You forgot peas & sugarsnaps … early sowing of sugar snaps planted in in the poly tunnel. All harvested before the tomatoes go in. Sequential sowings for fresh peas through the summer. 👍

  5. That's a nice collection vegs to grow. Thanks for sharing. You should make the list 8 so you can add carrots 🥕 😊

  6. Thank you, this is extremely helpful for this (53yr old) very newbie 😊 I'm in north east England so all of this info will be saved and used.

  7. Dear Ben, Happy New Year 2025, Greetings from Guernsey Island, Your videos give courage and great knowledge to our YouTube community

  9. I haven't done any gardening in the last 2 years but today I started sifting through my greenhouse and tidying up. I had 3 wasp nests in there but thank god the wasps were more or less comatose, as it is currently chilly here in France . I can't wait to start my veggie adventure again and am looking forward to all your wisdom. Thanks Ben😊

  10. Hey Ben! Been watching your channel for a while and very excited to try Garden Planner. Going to be starting our garden this Spring (no greenhouse yet). What zone are you in? 😀

  11. My sown from seed courgettes, pumpkins, squash all failed within a day of planting 2024- they just wilted & died. My soil is okish..clay rich area. I found the Ph was totally wrong just outside the right measure. I make my own compost but it's slow fermenting. Yet, in 202O I grew a monster squash that went +vely mental & grew around the garden. I have a small semi-urban sheltered garden plot, south facing. Would adding soil improver to plot help? Sorry really can't cope with the idea of manure. Rats etc…Thames valley so loads of water, damp & so a really big hang out for slugs.

  12. But I'm MONTHS away from mid-spring, or even early spring! I'm on the brink of the season of killing frosts and I don't have a large, heated greenhouse.

  13. For anyone who is looking for delicious ways to use their courgettes this year: Natasha Pickowicz developed a courgette scone recipe. It is a savory scone made with courgettes, gruyere, and thyme. I baked these scones all summer and fall in 2024. No more giving my excess courgettes to neighbors now 🙂 Happy Gardening everyone🌱

  14. Hope you have a pleasant start to 2025, Ben. We started our first veg garden together last year with your guidance and it has brought us such a tremendous amount of enjoyment, peace and fulfilment. A lot of slugs and pain as well, but that's all part of the game 😂

  15. I do enjoy growing courgettes and proper, big marrows – everyone loves the ginger and courgette jam I make, which is lovely on toast but also good to cook with. I am still waiting to see if the recipients think that green tomato wine will turn out to be as good as the wee tasting sip promised it should be…not quite ready to bottle yet! As always all your suggestions are excellent ones and every one of your videos lifts the spirits – thank you.

  16. is there anything i can do to stop my tomato's from exploding on the vine ?, i swear last year i almost lost an eye to a high velocity projectile tomato seed.

  17. Do you have a "best practice" for keeping squash bugs at bay? Last season they were brutal…burning all of my vines (that I can still find) today as I read thats where their eggs are…

  18. Hi Ben, great videos. Enjoying the planting planning and your great planner! I wondered where you got your metal arches and bean climbing supports from? My top crops whiich are popular with the family are: cucumbers, lettuce, brassica and pumkins/courgettes, potatoes, carrots, onions and garlic. Greetings from Guilford, Surrey.

  19. Thank you, I love your vídeos. I don't have a garden, I am trying to grow things in pots. I am from Spain.

  20. Been watching your videos for a couple years now, started growing on my balcony, but this year.. I finally have a garden to grow in 😁 good luck all for 2025!🤞💚

  21. May seem like a daft question but here goes anyway… is horse or cow's manure preferable? I have just got an allotment & as a total newbie have no idea if one is better than the other for growing fruit & veg?

  22. I've gone from ill tone it down this year and focus on a few things to now growing everything I did last year and 2 more things 😅 being chillies and spring onion. My wife's going to be cross 😂 we only have a limited patio area and I'm slowly filling it with crops 😊 love the videos can't wait to see what ur up to this year
