There’s a patch of different grass in the deep shade between my house and my neighbor’s. I wonder if someone threw some zoysia seed down a decade ago. It seems to do really well in the shade, so I’m considering plugging it where my bermuda is struggling. It stays so low and I almost never have to mow it, which is nice.

Following as I have this over half my yard and was trying to figure out if it was a weed or what. Originally had St Augustine but between sprinkler problems in the beginning and water restrictions last summer this slowly grew in the back half of my yard. The other half is now completely dead St Augustine.

It’s St Augustine, zoysia won’t grow that well in shade. Also zoysia is dormant right now.
