Charlotte NC. My backyard has a ton of these this year. I don’t have time to hand pull them. Sorry for a stupid question but should I use pre emergent (I know it has come up already) or should I use the spectracide or both to get rid of them? Thank you.

Pre- will slow their spread and kill what you don’t see yet, post- will treat for what has already sprouted. More specific advice will come from morre local to you experts. But over in Texas, you have to get Pre done whenever the grass goes dormant in fall/winter, or you get Henbit and other broad leaf weeds showing up all over right around now. Getting pre- done now will. Slow/stop more from showing up. Just be careful with “grass” killers. Depending on where you are and who you ask, your grass could be one of the “weeds” it kills. Check any products you buy are safe for your lawn before you buy them.
