    You need to cut the shoot off and put that into water. Be patient, I found that these are slow to root.

  2. Watering when there are no roots is futile. I would cut the shoots from the main trunk as the probability of roots forming on the younger tissue is better. I would remove half of the leaves to reduce evaporation and put in a moist but loose medium (perlite is fine). Keep at a relatively high humidity away from central heating maybe a bathroom if it has light.

    Don’t take my word for it wait for others before you take any drastic action
