Looking at your greenhouse so my next one doesn't get twisted and destroyed and wind opened french locked doors. It needs a deadbolt. On the list. Always little things to do and redo the right way.
In the North I amend in the fall . Let it break down more easily spread and mixed in.

Think y'all made a good decision. Looks nice and open in the high tunnel now. We need to start working on the next one and get it up before summer gets here. Never a free moment lately it seems. I agree with the only problem with those raised beds is getting em full and keeping em full LOL. Have a blessed day.

Having a lot of worms in a raised bed is both a blessing and a curse. Our 28' raised bed is down a good 6-8"and is definitely going to need to be refilled. But, they kept the soil nice and loose last year. 🪱
Danny, I feel you on the soil for the beds. We bought 8 of the Olle metal beds (different brand – same thing and size). We have been making our own soil. Here in GA we have a company that has a huge sod farm. They compost the trimmings from the grass as it grows with cow manure and sell it as a Soil3 compost. It is some of the best, fine, cleanest compost I've ever seen. We mix the Soil3 compost with compressed bales of peat in a 50% to 50% ratio (2 cu ft of each) and then add 1 gallon of pearlite, and one gallon of vermiculite. Best potting soil I've ever used and it works great in those beds. Nary a stick or piece of bark to be seen. I'm going to top off with some extra mix this spring and augment with just the Soil3 going forward. See if you have something similar in your area. They delivered a 1 cu yard bag of the Soil3 and put it anywhere we wanted it in our yard. I'm on my 3rd yard now.

If weld a bottom onto the bottom of the vego bed, you'll have a boat in case you guys both get hit with the massive floods that are expected.

Our life is like yours, work and save money to put back into the garden beds. David and I rarely if every eat at a restaurant and we don't take long trips. It's all worth it. We are crazy about Baccto soil. the high tunnel looks great. David and Lee S.C.
