One of my pothos stems got accidentally ripped from the soil, but the root stayed intact, so I’ve been keeping it in water for ~2 weeks. I just noticed that the main root developed these lateral root structures—does anyone know what they’re called? The stem is over 5 ft long, so I assume it needed extra help transporting water. I’ve never seen this happen with pothos before and thought it was really interesting!

  1. Very common. When I’m water propping pothos I always wait to transplant em until they have those secondary roots on the roots.
