I did it. I killed her.
I was misting my various bébés and her ass just slipped right off.

I degloved her right in front of her family and God and Jesus!

I have now killed at least…3(?) different varieties of air plants. I'm fairly certain that my xerographica is trying to exit stage left as well.

It's 100% my fault, as I'm new to air plants(technically, I grew up with Spanish moss in our enormous oak trees in Louisiana..but never knew they were tillandsia!), and would 180% still buy from Air Plant Hub.

I've ordered twice so far, and have a basket full right now. Absolutely zero regrets.

u/Nathannizzle has been extremely helpful in aiding me to not give up.

It's still that invisible inner part of you that says "what have I done?!"…

Though absolutely not the same thing, it's not entirely different than when losing a beloved pet. I'm still in mourning for my pugs 💖🐕🐕💖 over a decade later, but this will have me sad for at least a few days.

Just got to figure it out.

I'll miss you, Caput XL. 💖🪴💔

It's a good thing I didn't name her! Makes the process easier.

I’m so sorry that happened to you. I have to say, though, that even in sadness you’re still hilarious! Your post did crack me up! I love Caput Medusae and yours was particularly beautiful…they will never be forgotten! 💞 Don’t give up on on your airplant journey, remember that this community is always here to help when needed and please keep on being strong for your other bebès! 🥲
