Advice needed. Bermuda grass lawn with big area of it in the middle dead. In spring I’m planning to try and revive with transplants from healthy parts, also have lots of healthy grass in the front. Dead space is around 2-3000sqft I’m poor so trying to be frugal, is it hopeless??
Also im in a drought prone area so looking into clover seeding/ yarrow and native ground covers for dead areas
Late summer/early fall is the best time to seed cool season lawns.
Regardless, if you are you looking for information about how to overseed a cool season lawn. You can find a comprehensive guide [in this post here.](https://www.reddit.com/r/lawncare/s/pUsKCxyvwQ)

Buy a plugging tool, use that to transplant plugs of grass from healthy sections into the bare spot. Fertilize every 6 weeks while actively growing. Water regularly, in the morning. (2-3 days a week for the full areas, 3-4 for the thin areas)
Bonus: till the bare spot, spread compost, and retill to mix the compost in with the existing soil.
