What is wrong with my monstera deliciosa? Recently repotted it as it was root-bound, but had to fill the pot with a bit more soil than usual because it wasn’t stable, but it ended up covering some petioles. Was also away for a few days so I had family caring for my plants while I was away.

Maybe your family over watered them especially if there’s more soil for the plant to get used to and if it was only a few days it didn’t need watering anyways. How often are you watering it too?

I was about to comment it looks like it’s had an abundance of water. Try to give it more bright indirect light. I let the soil dry out slightly between waterings on mine. During summer, I don’t let the soil dry out completely, maybe about 3/4 dry.

It needs a hole in the bottom and a few pieces of broken clay pot or pebbles at the bottom. Then you can’t overwater unless you’re really not paying attention

Get the string out of there and use something gentler. Raffia or something. Cotton twine.
