Have you considered wearing the laced vest front side back?
Happy New Year Janelle. Absolutely loved all of your makes and you looked beautiful in all of them. The tan willow dress that you are unsure of looks divine on you and is very much a keeper. Look forward to watching more from you this year.
I loved your 2nd Willow dress. It’s so dressy and all the dress features really ‘popped’ in that fabric. Gorgeous
✨🧵
The rust dress that is at 11:54 in the video is great on you, color, fit, etc…
Please keep the willow dress, it’s such a beautiful colour on you and it screams Grecian goddess, just beautiful. P.S. I finally finished your pansy dress pattern today. I love it. Colour inspired by your lovely caramel fabrics.
Super, wonderful pices. I like it all.
There's a lot of reverb – It would really help your legibility if you got some acoustic treatment in this space – at minimum hanging some blankets on the wall would help.
I had to favorite this video because I want to make everything! I love your style. Even though we have very different figures, most patterns will look great on me. It must be the balance of feminine aesthetics and comfort. I have been traveling the US for a year and lost my creative touch (though I certainly sharpened my "shopping for crafting" skills LOL). I need a little boost to rebuild my relationship with my sewing machine and I think this video will be a great guide.
I love seeing what you make at the end of each year! You can truly see the evolution of your style and skill over time. Gorgeous dresses, and the rust one you’re worried about is really stunning. I wouldn’t worry about it. 🤩
So many lovely makes 😍 it’s been a great year following along with all your lovely making and travels ❤️
I think that brown dress is draping in a way that looks grecian and delicate, and I think it is really pretty! Maybe you could style it with more of an etherial or coquette look. Maybe you could change the bow for a light pink one to breakup the earthy color, or add other pretty delicate elements. I think if anything you could use it for a beach cover up!
Happy New Year, Janelle. You have certainly achieved a lot in 2024. I love all corduroy pieces.
Your GLORIOUS 2nd willow dress is absolutely lovely and I think the reason you are disappointed with it is that you are kind of projecting what you like about the floral version onto this one, and disappointed not to see it there. The different fabric makes it a completely different dress in an entirely different mood… Much dressier in my humble opinion. But absolutely smashing!
I think if the drapiness of the dress is your hang up, try wearing a petticoat under to give the skirt of it more body/shape
Hi Janelle, I started following Projekti Tyyny, too, when you mentioned them a while back in one of your videos. It literally means "project cushion" in Finnish and is pronounced "pro-yek-tee too-new" (I know, Finnish is such a strange language) 😂The owner is from Finland, and when she started her business, she was sewing cushions, and she never changed the name. Hope that helps! 😊
Re gingham dress with black bows…try attaching the bows onto brooch pins or safety pins.
You can attach the bows to the dress (or onto other garments) but can remove them for washing.
Beautiful makes 🙂 Your videos always give me lots of inspiration.
I would love to see a Daisy pattern hack video for something new to make with that one🤞
For the bows down the dress, you could tie and tack the bows and safety pin them from the inside of the dress with mini safety pins. Then they could ve easily removed for washing, and you wouldn't need to worry about replacing them.
How does the willa dress compare to the Clara dress? To me they look quite similar but I'm not sure :/ I would love to make a gingham dress, like the damson Madder one, but I don't know which pattern to buy 😅
I absolutely LOVE your Japanese sewing pattern videos, so please please do more of those. 🙂
Janelle. I'm not doing well. I had a horrible day. After I took a shower and laid down in bed, my first thought was I NEED a Janelle video. You are so calming. Your vibe and aura is unmatched. Thank you for being you. I needed it tonight.
Loved all the pieces!!!
I like watching video, it motivate me so much to sew ❤
First video I ever saw from you and subscribed immediately loveee the pieces you sewed 😍
Hi Janelle, I would love to buy the pattern of your black corduroy dress, it’s the last item of your video. Thank you 😊
Hi Janelle, your lacy table cloth top, is stunning. You could always wear it back to front, and then it won't be see through at the front. Trudy 😊
My fav? Pockets!!😂😂😂
Love the rust coloured willow dress. I think it beautifully highlights the gathers of the pattern.
Hi Janelle, I live in Brisbane and am currently in Tasmania for the first time at the moment. I’m leaving Launceston today and travelling to Hobart. Can you recommend any op shops there for material or vintage table cloths etc. Thanks so much 🥰. Juliet
If you are concerned with the fabric of the second willowy not having enough structure for the way you like the dress to drape, and prefer to wear it, you could consider looking into starching fabric, as that would lend more structure/stiffness to the fabric 🙂
Your clothing is fabulous!. You're an amazing creator.
Definitely overthinking the rust colored dress, it's so gorgeous!!
Beautiful makes! You should wear that rust colored Willow dress because it looks fantastic on you! Drapes beautifully!
I’d love to see a formal dress tutorial!
ive always thought your name is rose or rosery, 😅anyway this is one of my favorite trends to watch every year…
The dress you are overthinking is literally one of my favorites because of how it drapes! It’s stunning! Don’t overthink it!
All are fabulous but I can’t for the life of me figure out what you don’t like about the rusty colored dress it looks FANTASTIC on you!
I wonder if you might like the second Willa dress better without the gathers at the sleeve hems. If you take out the hem construction, I'm thinking it would be a floaty, airy style of sleeve whose name escapes me (butterfly sleeves??). You could shorten them a bit, too, and it might make the dress more summery. Right now, the gathering is such an all-over detail that it defines the whole look a bit.
I think the 2nd willow dress is just as lovely. Have you tried putting a petticoat under it to see if the added volume is what you prefer? This was a great video. The corduroy has inspired me to make something similar!
So beautiful. Everything!!!!
Happy New Year Janelle. What an awesome, stunning beautiful collection❤😍👏💃🎉🤎🤍🖤
The brown willow dress is gorgeous.🤎🤎
My guess is that you may not be drawns to wear the brown dress as much because you have a cool skin tone. It's a lovely dress and my guess is that you manage to offset some of your other warm color clothes with hints of cool with accessories or jeans, but with such a large swath of warm fabric as a maxi, the color can be overwhelming and incongruous with your natural colors.
Deutscher Titel und dann Englisch.?.
Hi! I admire, and envy your full of dignity, collection of self stiched clothings!!! During my younger years, I have been "stiching" some of my clothings…would bike to the "stoffenwinkel", and buy some nice fabrics… One of my pride clothe was a green blouse and skirt, where, the skirt, I made my own pattern with!!! I remember wearing it to shop at " Carrefour – St. Elois ", then, from that time on, I did not stich clothings, anymore… how I liked watching you stich, and the colours of your "collection", although, my style is really different…some kind of modern Italian!!! Apropos, I'm getting into " Minimalistic" Style of living, and a lil "boho", with a touch of Shabby Chique, …. I dunno, but YOU really "inspire" me!!!! TFS
