I'm looking for advice for repairing our neglected mini front lawn, and possible ongoing schedule for maintenance.
We have patches of lawn that have completely died off from our beginner gardener's neglect over the past few months. It is spreading quite quickly. What is the best plan of attack given it is summer at the moment?
After research we are still a bit unsure:
-remove dead patches/scarify and aerate (wait till autumn?)
-topsoil + reseed (autumn?)
-wetting agent or fertiliser?
-better and more regular watering
-more regular mowing (leave longer in summer?)
Any tips of items to add to the Bunnings run would be much appreciated.
Happy long weekend! 🇦🇺

Do you water it? Water twice a week, once if supply/cost is an issue. In the morning. Heavy/deep waterings. If you’re not doing that, that’s your problem AND your solution… Just start doing that, it’ll come back. How soon? Could be a couple weeks, could be 2 months… But it’ll come back.
P.s. I love that driveway. Idk if brick driveways are common down there, but they’re literally non-existent up here. Snow, ice, and salt destroy them
A thin layer of topsoil can help bare spots recover. Check watering as niles mentioned. Some fertilizer can help speed things along over just water.
Topsoil could be applied over it. Shouldn’t need to take it out or scarify.
Water should be 2-3x a week run right before sunup and you should total about 1-1.5” of water per week middle of summer. Average for us is about 30-45 minutes per cycle, this can vary though.
Mow a little high during recovery.
