This morning as I was watering and re-shaping a pothos vine on my favorite of all plants I broke a huuuuuge arm off and I am like, kind of distraught lollll. I love this plant so much, and I want to make sure the arms have a new life.
My question: do pothos like water or dirt propagation more? I’ve never done water but I’ve heard it’s good, I’m just a little nervous about the transfer process when the time comes. Let me know!!!

For reference, the first picture is the leaves I broke off 😭😭😭 the second picture is where I put the arms, the third picture is the last time I cut off some leaves from the same plant and they’ve been growing slowly but surely in a lil nursery pot!! The fourth is just me showing off my beautiful vine.

(Also sorry for three posts in a row, all of the plants were needy this morning!!!)

None of the ones I tried to prop in soil made it. I always do pothos in water

  2. I always do water. I tried soil once and it died so fast lol. Never had an issue in water though.

I have always done water. If you have a golden, pop a piece in the cup with your neon.

I find that the more pieces I prop together – the faster the roots come.

I’ve tried both and my success treasure in water is 100% and soil not so much. The transition is from water to soil is smooth as long as you keep the surrounding soil evenly moist until you see the first new growth on your prop.
