My sister and mother spend hours a day picking up sticks before my brother rides the mower around the yard as to not break it and clear the leaves. There must be a better way? Is there a machine or something they can buy that would ease their lives?

  1. Pick up sticks and limbs bigger than thickness of a finger. Anything else gets mulched with mowing.

I time my blade sharpening so that late fall and early spring will be the dullest. That’s also the time where I’ll have the most twigs and debris.

Even if a summer storm comes through and blows debris all over, I won’t think twice about vacuuming it up with the tractor.

Life is short. Blades can be sharpened or replaced fairly cheaply. Your time is valuable and these tools are there to make lawn care easier. Use them.

I use a pull behind lawn sweeper in the spring (after I pick up any big sticks). It does a decent job of cleaning up the yard.

Get a group of nine to twelve year old boys and tell them whoever builds the biggest fire wins. Watch as the delight in clearing your property for you
