Here is my 1 week transformation of the rental backyard
Tossed over the original soil with a garden fork, wetted down, laid down some drought proof seed, and topped with new topsoil. Watering twice daily, approx 10 mins each time.
Coming up well, just a few patches which will hopefully cover over soon.

Looking good. I would aerate it though and seed it one more time. Looks a lot better than it did.

What type of grass is ‘drought proof seed’?
