Hello, new here and to my home! Just moved a month ago (Southern California) and finally tackling the front yard. There’s a sprinkler system already built in-ground with 4 heads… but I don’t recognize how to use this Orbit system. (see photos) this is what I’m guessing is the control system… anyone know how it works? It’s right next to the water line coming from beneath the house where I have the hose attached.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Lawn is suffering and would love to be able to use this instead of hand watering!

If you look at the center of the valve – there is a black tab hanging off. If you look closely it says on / off. Twist that and it should start the system. Careful not to over twist unit as it will eventually take off the cylinder which you can screw on again if it does happen. That should start the zone. Find out what pops up then twist it back again to turn it off.

Lastly – get someone to take out the orbit units they are the worst. Go Hunter or Rainbird

Edit: given how old those look – if for some reason they can’t turn off or something happens flip the red shutoff in your picture #1

Can you find the irrigation timer? I was trying to zoom in and see where the solonoid wires run to?
