  1. When do you start seeds for herbs? Thank you ❤it’s my desire to have a 3×5 bed of cooking herbs but space is premium in my apartment

  2. thank you so much for showing how you set up your garden! I kind of wrote a plan last year,..now to refine for this year. I also, picked up crocheting more..haha..i'm on my second hat!

  3. Tromboncino are cucurbita moschata, and that type is more resistant to vine borers because of their thin, hard stems. I’m leaning into this type going forward. If you search that scientific term you’ll get a bunch of winter squash that are moschata. Tromboncino are perfect because they are a good replacement for zucchini which I struggle with. I’m growing parthenocarpic (don’t need pollination) cucumbers and one zucchini inside a protected structure to try and outsmart the pests. They won’t let me grow what I like!

  4. I had a tiny bit more success last year using squash vine borer traps. Tromboncino remained untouched. I really liked keeping them on the vine to get the winter squash effect! (In Virginia Beach).

  5. Do the SVB not bother your cantaloupe? I’m trying to grow some baby ones. My cucumbers always get taken out by bacterial wilt, which is a bummer.

  6. Do your pole beans make it through the summer and keep flowering? I’m debating growing them. Also, are you growing any early spring vegetables like peas, radishes, lettuce, beets?

  7. I dont buy journals but i do buy cheap note books to plan my garden 😅.I was writing out my plans for my garden TODAY! i got my seeds from the freezer and counted out what i want to sow.The biggest problem for ME! is things that need trellising. I purchased a trellis and have to put it together. Im mostly planting bush beans but do have a few beans that need a trellis. So i have to sow those running beans FIRST and then use it later for my cucumbers or other running veggies. So i have to plan everything out to the tee lol. The other thing that can mess me up is the weather( weather is changing like crazy lately even past your frost times) .I actually will be starting my peppers soon here in 9a.❤

  8. You might want to try planting Blue Hubbard squash as a trap crop because vine borers perfer them. I've also seen vine borer traps on Amazon.

  9. Great info!!! My peppers I’ve overwintered are iffy…. I know 3-4 are still alive out of the 11! LOL… Thanks for sharing!!

  10. Do you plan out succession plantings of the same place in the beds? So where the first row of beans is, do those beans stay there until you plant something for fall or would you come back and put something else there before your fall plantings? I am on year 3 of my garden and I still haven't quite figured out succession planting, and more difficult for me, succession placement yet.

  11. Congrats on doing ur big one with crocheting they look so good I still wanna do Tunisian I only do the regular way and knit and now because of you garden. I want to try to grow loofa. Girl you gotta try cucumber salad. I gotta find me some greasy collards and collard trees I’m mostly growing in grow bags wat size do you recommend

  12. Thank you so much Asia. Your content is always so informative! You do such a lovely job of educating your audience. Blessings to you and your family in the new year.

  13. When you mentioned the # of grow bags you had, I was hoping you had a link. I need more growbags and the ones you linked had a great price! Thank you!

  14. I'm trying to distract myself while I recover so bingeing your videos that I've missed. I need to figure out what to grow. I didn't take care of my garden at the end of the season so I have a lot of work ahead of me 🤦🏼‍♀️ lol

  15. LOL – just like how you know a cookbook is good when it's got flour and oil stains… you know that's a good garden planner when there's dirt on the pages!!! I like how you plan each bed like that, I try to draw out my whole garden, then I never have room to write out the details.

  16. This video came at absolutely the perfect time! I have been trying to get my plans together for next year. The way you plan is so easy to follow and is something I’ve been wanting to do. I saw you do this last year but I wasn’t prepared😅

  17. Love how you plan out your garden.Im going to give it a try.I'm expanding my garden, doubling it.I found out where the previous owner had her garden. We dug up some of the soil,it still looks great. We'll be busy putting in high fence with barb wire rows on top,to try to keep wildlife out.Your planner is going to come in handy.Thank you.😊

  18. Hi Asia thanks for sharing how you plan out your garden. I had decided that this year I was definitely going to do a planner to help me coordinate how and where to plant all of my veggies and flowers. I ordered a garden planner off of Amazon to help me, but your technique is really nice. Thanks for always being so helpful and realistic with gardening. By the way your crochet sets are looking absolutely beautiful. Thanks for always sharing great content.💕

  19. in the past i have drawn out 2 beds per page, then ended up scribbling notes in the margins… i don't know why i never thought to just put one per page! i did that this weekend and got my tomatoes started. i'm so ready for spring!
