  1. Could you do a video on plant labeling in the garden? (I'm thinking about perennials, etc, not the plants in the vegetable garden.) I'd like to find permanent labels that don't fade or wear off from year to year. Everything I've tried has been a failure, and now I'm not remembering the names of all of the varieties any more. Labels would help immensely. LOL

  2. I think with those "rules" that are probably myths makes me say that you Laura, are a "common sense" gardener.

  3. Hi, Aaron — Just wondering if the Ecoblast will work in a fountain? I'm considering a fountain installation, not as big as yours, but I am worried about the maintenance, including algae. Thanks!

  4. It sounds like Russel got a puncture wound that abscessed. You can medicate with Neosporin on the wound Cats are famous for puncture wounds. Mine certainly is.

  5. You are never too old for an Easter basket. We actually still have an adult Easter egg hunt and it’s fun for all! Happy Spring thinking it’s cold now but it’s a season for the earth to rest . Mother Nature is in charge. Be thankful for each day.🙏 for the people who are in the Southern California fires.

  6. I saw a houseplant in a random reel. It said it was an "Indigo Amethyst…something" I have searched Google and cannot find it 😮‍💨. The leaves looked fairly sturdy, similarly shaped like a philodendron, vining out. Please help 🧐

  7. Laura I was inspired to try Amaryllis this year after watching you. I really enjoyed them and will continue to have them because they are so easy. I also planted up a couple of orchids surrounded by small ferns and am really enjoying them too.

  8. Thank you for sharing about Russell! Awe… you are such a sweet Mom (to Russell and your children). So glad you pampered him. 🩷

  9. my daughter grew artichokes last year ..she had the globe and a red variety..both produced huge artichoke…she cooked them…we enjoyed the leaves and a few hearts…she froze the rest of the hearts and made spinach dip for 3 party events…we finished the last hearts this past Christmas Eve

  10. I have had bloom stalks bloom again, multiple times. As with you, I feel it is an advantage not to clip the stalks off. ❤❤🥰❤❤

  11. Maybe I’m wrong but I think the reason why you only bump your plant up to the next size is a chance of overwatering, whereas outside you have other roots to absorb any excess.

  12. In the fall I bought some Winky Double Blue and White Columbine and I cant wait to see what the blooms look like this spring. The picture on the tag looks amazing.

  13. I never got a Easter basket, in my country was not customary at the time, I don't know now. I got new dress when possible. For me Easter, I prefer to call it passover rather it's all about resurrection of Jesus Christ!

  14. I’m so happy to see your family went on vacation. I have to agree that Sea World is an experience place to go. Next time go to Balboa Park. It’s beautiful and they have a variety of things for both kids and adults to enjoy. Plus, you can get some yummy Mexican food at downtown SanDiego that’s close by.
I live in Orange County that borders Los Angeles. Please keep us in your prayers. The Santa Ana winds are kicking up again. They were the strongest I have ever seen in my 25 years living here. We have not had any significant rainfall for 8 months Unfortunately we know someone who lost their home in the Eaton fire. We are praying for God to protect our communities and the firefighters and police to protect them.

  15. Question* is it better to grow geraniums from seed every year or to try to overwinter them in paper bags inside and try to revive them every spring.

  16. Great recap as always. If anyone watches youtuber Benjiplant, he lost his house and all his plants and gardens in the LA fires. 😭

  17. I'm glad Russell is doing better. It sounds like the vet gave him a shot of Covenia. Just a word of caution about that. It's a 10 day antibiotic so no having to give your pet pills, but if your pet has an adverse reaction, there is nothing your vet can do. It made my cat lethargic, to the point where I was afraid she was going to die so I slept on the floor in a room with her. Also, vets say it last 10 days, but it is actually still in their system for up to 60 days, so do not get a 2nd shot of it.

  18. Laura, I love your videos. I am so happy to learn that our birthdays are only 4 days apart from each other. 😊 Thank you for inspiring my family and I to save every penny to buy a house with some extra land. You and Eric are a blessing for us.

  19. Sea World has great shows….. if you missed the Shamu show or the sea lion show you did miss out. The kids would've loved those! BUT warm weather is best to go to Sea World.

  20. 😬… 🪄🧪⚰️
    thank you Aaron and Laura
    🎤🧔🏻‍♂️🎙️👩🏻‍💻☕️
Easter is one of my favorites too!
    ✨🎚️🧎🏾✨

  21. I'm so glad you got to sneak in the trip to San Diego! I've always wanted to see their zoo. The kids are at fun ages to take trips with.
The reasoning for not too large of pots for houseplants is that the substrate will hold more moisture, and could cause root rot. Also some houseplants like their roots to fill the pots before growing. It's not that you cant……just keep watering in mind , and understand the plant growth. Hugs from Central Illinois!

  22. I'm so glad you had a break and went to San Diego Zoo. It's one of my families favorite vacations. The children must have been thrilled with all the animals. The week of videos was wonderful and so interesting. Glad Russell is recovering. He's a sweet boy. Have a great week!🤗🐈💕

  23. Sadly I am addicted to your feed! You and yours should be proud of your family values and integrity! From transitioning from a blog to a sustainable corporate entity, your team’s time will become the most valuable and the most expensive to replace. Buy as many “garden pruning shears as needed, now and the next year!” Think about a place to contain for cleaning, allow young smart student’s opportunities to learn from your experience, for no wages! Sounds like taking advantage, but 67 now and opportunities due to unpaid experiences early on! So impressed with your day to day, sadly need my Garden Answer fix daily, such a pathetic addiction!
Bless you and yours! Thank you for sharing and making our world better by your existence! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

  24. I always whack off the dangling roots when I'm re-potting. I do it when I put plants in the ground too. When I watch you be so delicate I feel a little heartless but they grow back. I often just tear off the bottom of the plant and roots and cram them in and they seem to do fine in our harsh climate. If my plants do not do well, it is usually due to high ph or the wrong spot in the garden.

  25. Good morning. Glad you enjoyed San Diego! It is a beautiful city. 69° and 70° is too cold for me, but I understand it feels good to you guys because it gets so cold where you live. Continued prayers for us in Southern Cal please. Enjoy your day! ❤

  26. Ha Ha. Just post a banner…Video Called Due To Weather…wink..
(whether that’s the case or not.)🤣 We can survive. Enjoy your slack time. ❤️

  27. I do Easter baskets or some kind of treat for my kids, grandkids and my great! I just love giving them a little treat!

  28. my father used chest waders a lot duck hunting..dock in and out of lake…he always threw his waders over a laundry line to make sure they were dry then stored them in a very large zipper bag…I asked him why and he he told me rodents love to get in them……
