  1. On the greenhouse thing you were in, have you had to replace the plastic roof/sides? Or is the plastic pretty hardy and not becoming brittle from the sun?

  2. Get mouse traps -where’s you cats why are they getting them 😂 Good job on cleaning the pond. The flower arrangement is beautiful

  3. That arrangement makes my heart sing!! apple blossom geranium is my favorite and so are the purple pants us ! it’s just so great to see something blooming

  4. Oh Laura!😂 fill the waders up with warm soapy water, let soak a bit, rinse well and hang upside down using a couple poles or tool handles. Store with plastic bags stuffed inside. I use pieces of old tarps or anything mice don't use for nesting.

  5. I love the arrangements you make it reminds me to create beauty around me no matter how small in this gloomy winter

  6. My mom and I went for a walk the other day and the sunshine felt so good. She's 92 so any time I get to spend with her is precious. Anyhow I started singing John Denver Sunshine on my shoulders. And every time you said sunshine today I thought of a song you should play it;

  7. Low 30's and your not bundled up? I've seen you outside in blazing heat wareing long sleeves working in garden, are you not affected by the weather?

  8. I commend you for the pond clean up. It is such a beautiful sight to behold!! I hope that you find a way to wash the waders.

  9. Try using your long, narrow, flexible Fiskars rake on the string algae, the debris on the bottom of stream/pond and in the crevices . I use mine for ALL types of clean ups, even in water. Hook the algae with the rake prongs and twist, wrapping the string algae around the rake – maybe? I use mine all the time to scoop stuff up then flip it upside down and use it like I would a small shovel (to scoop up/out and remove lighter materials). Hopefully, that make sense. I use that rake for so many things – not always 'gardening'. I love that rake! 🙂

  10. Yes wash them out, store upside down. Let them out in the cold and the smell will leave. You can spray with Lysol too.

Who needs mice when you have plenty food, a warm bed, and lots of love! lol The life of a GA kitty! 😍

  11. OMG! What about black widow spiders in the barn? Maybe keeping them inside hermetic plastic boxes as your christmas lights? All the clothing and gloves you use to work with…

  12. Laura love you videos and the pond is looking great! The hip waderes can be cleaned with bleach and hot water (not boiling) from a tea kettle. Then I would look into boot hangers that you can hang them upside down so that they drain and it is a more difficult for mice to make a home in them in the future it will also help them dry properly

  13. I think it’s funny that you don’t mind putting your hands in anything and everything but a little mouse poop on your toes freaks you out. 😂

  14. What a difference that made cleaning up around the pond! The colander planter is awesome – love the way it looks planted up!

  15. I don’t know how your hands didn’t get cold! Mine would have frozen in seconds. If you store your waders and boots upside down, the little devils can’t use them as food storage, and homes.

  16. I have 4 cats and all but one of them (who mostly stays indoors) bring live mice into my house. Because toys? I dunno. Good thing I love them so.

  17. I threw away a nice pair of slippers that mice had nested in. You can never get the smell out and they can carry bacteria and virus'. It's not worth the risk. Nice pond clean out!!!

  18. Thank you for sharing this video! I am definitely a spring/summer planter, so you have now inspired me to get some pansies and geraniums and plant a beautiful arrangement to enjoy during these winter months👍

  19. Hang your waders upside down to dry and then store them someplace airtight. You also have to worry about spiders getting in the them.

  20. I'm so jealous of your mild winter temperatures. Here in MN we can't do outdoor olantings–even things like pansies that can take cooler temps–until April or May.

  21. When you pull the cannas on edge of dream stream a wonderful replacement choice is red cardinal flower. I live in the Adirondack Mountains and regularly see swaths of lobelia cardinalis appearing on misted, rocky hillsides growing in patches to edge of streams and ponds. A great choice for naturalizing your amazing pond plantings. Thanks for the thought and effort you put into your presentations. I have been enjoying your videos for years.

  22. Tip for mice control…bowl of sweet carbonated soft drink, Mt dew-pepsi, placed near infestation. They drink but don't burp…so they go away to pass-a-way. Change out daily as the carbonated effect is needed to do the job.❤

  23. What a job, Laura, but it looks beautiful always! I absolutely love the flower container. I'm with you. I just want to be outside in the gardens. Spring will be here before we know it😊

  24. Laura, happy new year to you and your family! Is there some kind of contraption that you can use to suck out the debris from the bottom of the pond? Is there some kind of vacuum you can use?

  25. I think you could use a garden rake and a leaf rake to get most of the leaves and moss out of your dream stream. Then clean up the finer particles with a net. Regarding the mouse droppings and pee in your waders: pour in some baking soda to coat the bottom of the boots…let sit for 30 minutes then pour in white vinegar. Let it sit for an hour then rinse them out with a hose and hang them upside down to drip dry. Once they’ve dried completely, store in a covered container.
