It's our first time using DWC hydroponics and growing in general. I'm scared we are doing something wrong?

Here's our journal for Day 9, we keep one every day for Ph, EC, TDS and Temp.

We purchased an instant thermometer for more accurate water readings because our only thought is maybe the water is too warm?

We have a vivosun setup with the main console running the light cycles, fans, pumps, humidity monitor etc.

The plants are pictured in order with #3 being a bit behind because of a broken root during transplant into the rock wool. Days are numbered after transplant.

Any advice or constructive criticism is immensely welcome. Our nutrients are Advanced Nutrients Micro Grow & Bloom and Voodoo juice.

My husband extensively researched proper Ph, nutrients, products the whole nine yards, so we thought we would pick the brains of some real folks!

*For those who aren't able to decipher the journal:

Day 9 Jan 2nd: 1 ok & 2+3? (Meaning we aren't sure about 2&3)
1. Ph: 5.6 EC: 956 TDS: 478
2. Ph: 5.8 EC: 956 TDS: 498
3. Ph: 5.82 EC: 914 TDS: 457

Temps are blank because we think our thermometer isn't accurate enough.

Thanks so much for any help or roasting 😂

Make sure airstone in bucket which I’m assuming you know that. Leave 1-2” gap between water and net pot . Take solo cup and dip into bucket once a day and slowly pour over rocks close to plant but not on top of plant. Keep water close to 5.8 ph but don’t worry if lower or higher just stay between 5.5 6.5 but 5.8 is ideal. Keep top watering once a day until roots reach the water.

What are you starting the seeds in? I’d probably use a root riot plug or rockwool cube to sprout the seed and let it establish some roots before plugging it into your system. Your plant is too small to survive the amount of space and moisture it’s in.

Looks fine. Logging and everything is fun ,but not necessary. You literally do not need to adjust anything until you add more water. The plant should be depleting the nutrients and water at the same time so, the numbers generally stay the same.

My advice: set it and forget it now that you have a seedling. You can literally zip up the tent and check on it once a week for the next 1-1.5 months.

If you see deficiencies during that time then ask for help. However deficiencies won’t show for a while. You’d be surprised how much abuse they can take 🙂 My first grow was outside in a trashcan feeding it fish, eggshells, and vinegar for ph on tapwater using guesswork (no ph meter).

Make sure your air stone doesn’t get clogged.

    Hi there!

To make your life easier, next time let the plant set properly before transplanting in the bucket , like 4-5 times bigger than what you have(to me is 3th node)

I prefer a lower EC in seedlings stage , up to 600 and from the 5th Node onwards i rise it up 200 by week(you ideally start training your plant from that point onwards)

Keep your water temperature in check, if needed buy some blue plastic things that you put in the freezer and change it daily.

Keep a bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide at hand just in case.

    Don’t overdo.
Don’t let her veg too much.
Let it run smoothly and enjoy the ride.
