Hi all,
Have been doing some backyard clean up and pulled this clump out.
It looks like a grass? But I'm not familiar. Could it make a lawn?
To help, I pulled it out of a hard dirt area (only other obvious weeds grow). Based in Tas (Aus).

I live on the other side of the world but looks like fescue

Looks like clumping fescue. After a rain pull 10 and after a season it will be under control.
Clumping tall fescue, I’ve found only roundup works in killing this unfortunately
Coarse fescue as others have mentioned. Or I think someone else on here said the forest term is forage type tall fescue.
