Welcome back to Kimberley Vickers Garden Calm! In Part 3 of our garden transformation journey, weโre making big progress, learning through challenges, and dreaming of whatโs to come.
This week, I focused on preparing the garden for future goals like having bees (my husbandโs favorite!) and chickens. Weโve visited a few local farms to learn more about keeping chickens, and while itโs not quite the right time yet, Iโm feeling inspired and gathering lots of ideas for when weโre ready. For now, my focus is on getting the garden as ready as possible to make it a welcoming space for them in the future.
I also moved lavender to the bottom of the garden to attract bees, created a potting station with a bamboo screen I made myself, and our fencing guys installed a beautiful new fence. Itโs been a mix of hard work, fun family moments, and some lessons learnedโlike accidentally spreading nettle seeds all over the garden (oops!). ๐ซฃ
Iโve added a few mini greenhouses, planted a palm, olive tree, and a stunning acer from a flower show, and found a bargain canopy shelter that looks just like the expensive ones. To take a break from heavy gardening, we tried out our Eriba caravan, spent a few fab days out, and even played Jurassic Park-themed crazy golf!
Itโs all coming together nicely, with big plans for a summer garden party for the kids. Join me for relaxing ASMR vibes and enjoy the progress as we continue this exciting journey.
