MORE ABOUT ME

I’m Anne of All Trades. In NASHVILLE, I have a woodworking, blacksmithing and fabrication shop, a selection of furry friends, and an organic farm. Whether you’ve got the knowledge, tools, time or space to do the things you’ve always wanted to do, everything is “figureoutable.”

I became “Anne of All Trades” out of necessity. With no background in farming or making things, I wanted to learn to raise my own food, fix things when they break and build the things I need.

12 years ago I got my first pet, planted my first seed and picked up my first tool.

My goal is to learn and share traditional techniques and skills while showing my peers how to get from where they are to where they want to go, how to do the things they are passionate about, and what can be done TODAY to engage their own community and grow deep roots.

Whether it’s carving spoons, making my own hand tools, restoring my antique truck or growing heirloom tomatoes, the farm and workshop definitely keep me busy and support – whether financially through Patreon, through shopping my affiliate links, through buying merchandise, plans or project videos, or even just liking, commenting, and sharing my content with others helps me GREATLY to keep producing quality content to share.

Get a better roadmap of how to grow deep roots and live the life you want by subscribing to this channel and be sure to check out my blog for even more info https://anneofalltrades.com

  1. Best animal care educational video I've ever seen. Need educational videos like this for every type of animal. Plus++ you kept my interest till the end. Job very well done 👍✅
    PS
    I'm never getting a goat 🐐😅

  2. Goats, EVIL BASTARDS. Sheep, STUPDEST animal alive. Pigs, SMARTEST animal in the barn. (There is your 1st day in farming.) If you give a goat a BEATUTIFUL field of Alfalfa, acres, and acres of perfection….. you will come out, and they will be standing on the hood of your brand new car. THAT'S if you are lucky. Because after they eat the heads off, all your wife's flowers, many times, they will eat the side mirror off your car. They might then get on the hood because they are full by then, and want to relax and look around. Now SHEEP, they are SO STUPID, they fall down, and forget how to stand back up. That's how dumb they are. Pigs…. you can train them.

  3. I was on Amazon with 10 goats in my cart and was about to hit "Place Order," and then I saw this video and canceled the transaction. Whew, that was a close one.

  4. When I was in high school, I worked evenings at a farm. There were dairy goats there, and I loved the buggers (never wanted to own them, though). The kids were so fun … break time was the best! … and the billy Gordon was a naughty but fun dude. The only issues I ever had was when one of the girls would wait until the pail was full and I was off guard, and wold suddenly put her hind foot right into the milk I had just finished extracting from the seemingly patient lady. They knew what they were doing. 😆

  5. I had two goats when I was much younger, and they were probably the best pets I ever owned. Sadly, one died for a reason we couldn't figure out, and the other one was attacked by roaming dogs that no one owned. My dad ended those dogs. I was heartbroken.

  6. Omg the cuteness is hard to ignore! I have bunnies and they live with dogs and cats in my house. It’s really their house. My outdoor iron furniture became my indoor furniture. I can’t stand when people sell rabbits at Easter for a child., thank you for this expert goat video.

  7. We had a farm and my husband wanted goats and i didnt, we got goats without knowing anything about them. We learnt real quick. After installing a more secure fence we fell in love. We sold the farm and i miss our goats😢

  8. She is not wrong. Goats are extremely smart. Where do you think the term “escape goat” comes from? If you don’t herd your goats, they will herd themselves right off your property. Lol!!!! Great video and very informative!!!

  9. Aahh I'm so glad I have found your channel again..Can I ask how do you do it, where do you get your energy from, bless you??..
This is a dream of mine, but that's all it ever will be..I love your honesty, even though you are explaining the hard/difficult parts you can see the love you have for the life, your connection with your animals..
Wishing you all the best on this truly blessed journey ..
I live in England & my hair is grey just for dealing with people & their attitude🤣🤣..I think I would rather deal with animals than people..
My guinea pigs seem to eat poop & sleep 😅😅..
Sending love to you & your loved one's & take care ☮️✨☮️✨

  10. Anyone tough enough to actually drink goat's milk on regular basis is tough enough to listen to. I'm paying attention.

  11. The more we learn about non-human lifeforms,
the more we realize they are more intelligent (and/or have more complex behavior) than we previously thought/realized/knew.

  12. I like goats, but never had a farm. I must say, however, your goats, cows and whatever are keeping you young. Your skin and hair, not to mention your fitness look so healthy and lovely. Loved this video! By the way, the word for a goat Shepard is goatherd.

  13. We raised goats for many years when I was a youngster. We raised full-sized milk goats, kept the nannies and castrated the billies to fatten up for meat. Good eating.

  14. Goats are great cattle followers in a rotational grazing system. The cattle graze and remove some of the parasites. The goats follow behind the cattle. Browsing the woody plants that the cattle do not eat and leave behind. Saving time in the tractor seat brush hogging, while adding even more manure to the paddocks. They also help thinning invasive bush honeysuckle and multi flora rose out of our wood lots. Giving the native fauna a better chance of competing and continuing generations.

  15. LOVED THE VIDEO!!! Very informative and such a delightful video to watch. You made your point clearly, distinctly and lovingly. I won't get the 2-3 goats I was thinking of getting now that I know the facts and how important it is to raise them responsibility. I sincerely thank you. I'll just continue to watch adorable goat videos on YouTube. With gratitude!

  16. My friends have two guardian dogs also. They had to fence the perimeter of their property, too.

She noticed my Aussie cross dog chase off range cows and come back to me and his horse. She said her dogs (Anatolia) would have kept going and going.

  17. My grandmother kept a goat for me because it is the best milk to transition to after breastfeeding. “Nana” was her name. (The goat, not my grandmother) White and brown spots and long ears. She was so sweet tempered.

  18. Your so funny I don't have goats nor do i want any and I have NO idea why I clicked this video but i'm glad I did! Machine gun buttholes should be machine gun kelly's new name…

  19. I grew up drinking goat milk because I couldn't tolerate drinking cows' milk, but could goat milk. I'm 61 years old and still have problems with cows' milk upset stomach, constipation, and diarrhea.I didn't have these problems with goats' milk .I can't get any more cause my Dad would get it from one of his friends .Poeple tell me that what I said isn't true that if my body can't handle cow milk, then I will have worse problems with goat milk, which I don't and I feel better when I drink it than the cow milk

  20. Im happy and sad that videos like this one need to be made. I grew up in Arkansas and we had chickens ,pigs and a couple of cows. I just have always known YOU DONT GET ANIMALS BECAUSE THEY ARE CUTE. Im a country girl at heart and i now live in the city in a one bedroom apartment and i cant tell you how many nights i cry myself to sleep because i want a dog or a cat. But my heart tells me to not be selfish. I work 12 hours a day thats just cruel and abusive to have a dog in a small apartment while im gone for that long. Most say well just get a cat they like being by themselves. I cant think of one cat we had while growing up that " liked" be alone for that amount of time. So i cant even begin to imagine to get a Goat because its cute. Of course i pray no one would get one while living in my situation but even if i had 2 acres i just couldn't do the animal like that. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Best video ive seen all year pertaining to animals. 😊

  21. I'm in an urban area and the park near me has brought in goats for the past few summers to eat a lot of brush that's on hilly areas and difficult for volunteers to maintain. They are so adorable!

My little fantasy in the back of my mind is to have a little farm with some goats and sheep to then spin yarn from.

  22. Anne, reading your article now in the homestead magazine… I am beyond sorry for what you have gone through. I wish we could be neighbors and do something more than say I'm sorry. The community has your back though. Have you seen the Sound of Hope: possum trotter story/ movie yet? If not please do. Sending a bear hug your way
