Hi everyone! I hope you're well. I'm very ignorant to air plants but I just ordered some from Amazon and one of them came with long roots. Am I supposed to pot in soil this one? None of the other ones have roots nor look like this.

I'm also confused about everyone having different soaking times for air plants. Is it 30 minutes, an hour, or overnight? Lol

I just soaked this for 30 minutes after receiving the package, it's upside down to dry 💜

    Tillandsia roots are for gripping and securing the plant to a surface. No need to pot it and you don’t need to do anything to them.

    Soaking time is not a strict thing so don’t worry too much about it. You just want to ensure that the trichromes and tissue underneath get saturated. A quick dunk is not going to be enough.
