MY STORY:
I’ve been stuck in rut for the past couple of years – both my parents passed away at the end of 2022 and since then I’ve been navigating grief, burnout and just being scared to make a change. I decided that 2024 was going to be the year I set my life on fire, because life is too short to spend all of it wondering just what the point is. So I quit my job, sold my house in the suburbs and bought a 150yr old cottage in the middle of the Scottish countryside. Follow along as I attempt to renovate this little stone house, build a backyard homestead and hopefully fall in love with life, all over again.
Spoiler alert – I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing, so almost anything could happen.

The snow arrived this week and while I was warm enough (so glad I got my boiler fixed when I did!), all of my plans were disrupted and cabin fever started to set in! But I'm very excited to have a new addition and some company at the cottage.

So happy that you got a Cat. Happy Holidays.
Such a beautiful kitty.
Jude! You are not the only one to get pinned under a cozy blanket! It is a winter/autumn hazard!
Thank you for the peace and gorgeous natural outdoor space. My cat Simon (?also a rescue) says hello to Sven from Arizona USA.
Thank You, Jude for a lovely watch of creating your new home. I wanted to jump right in and help you (not that I'm all that gifted…lol). So glad you got Sven, he's a lucky boy! Stay warm, safe and dry! Much Love & Joy ~
I've only just seen your channel and think you've got a fantastic place, wish I was younger. It's something I would have love to have done. Are you going to grow your own veg ect

Welcome, Sven!
Can you do a video of what each building is for? I saw the video of the house tour and got hooked.
Your smile and attitude towards daily life projects is so heart warming. I enjoy your videos.
I‘m so happy for you and Sven ❤

Where is your jacket from at around 2:20! It's gorgeous!
We love Sven, and demand regular Sven content. 😂
hey Jude how bout tarpaulin on the roof to stop it seeping in. They cover cars ns boats so why not shedd?
have u ever been to wales jude
Can you put tarps on the roof or the three mil plastic that’s super heavy duty that you can get at the B&Q? Usually that plastic comes in large rolls…. I know in America they come in 50 foot and 100 foot rolls so you could potentially cover the roof of the structure and secure it at the foundation so it doesn’t blow in the wind.
So many things to love in your video, thank you
Looks lovely in the snow Jude but I think it is very cold your fire looks nice and cosy
its just like the house from 'The Holiday' especially in the snow. what a dream! Hi, from Scotland also 🙂
