  1. I use a spray bottle with straight vinegar to kill weeds that grow in sidewalk cracks. Won’t the vinegar in this harm my plants? Does the eggshell powder REALLY neutralize the vinegar? Could you show us some plants that you have used this on? Thank you.

  2. Thanks, I use epsom salt to get rid of slugs as well as for better germination with seeds and to help my tall plants and flowers thrive… Yes, just like you said "I was crushing the egg shells cause I saw others did it that way to improve calcium in the soil and strengthen my plants.. Never tried grinding egg shells or spraying it on.

  3. Thank you for this. I'm going to assume the crunched eggshells, that I've put in my compost for years, are acting in a time-release way to nourish the soil on-going. For quick help for my plants, I'm marking a jar for accumulating ground shells. When up to the 1/10th mark, I'll add vinegar. Liked watching the reaction happen.

  4. Thanks for sharing this! It's surprisingly unexpectedly how one's knowledge begets to another level by drawing from experiences of others in the same field of study or activity. Quite often I thought of the best way to use the eggs in soils were to fine crush them and mix them into the soil. Though the plants strive well for some time early in their peak growth bearing fruits for harvest, some still slumped off into leaves yellowing. With that method of yours, I will gain to experience how it works in the pot soils that are only renewed by compost of plant base materials such as peels etc. cut up finely and soaked overtime in water. In fact, the soil I have in pots presently are there in excess of 5 years!
