I have been using this cold frame for the past 2 years to get a jump start on our short growing season here in Alberta, Canada. In this video I share the design, considerations for placement and how I am able to get a few weeks on either end of the growing season without needing to start any seeds indoors. Hope you enjoy!

  1. Lots of overhead height is must! It's hard to remember how tall planters grow.

You may like my raised beds…indestructable and mostly free…on my channel!

  2. I happen to have acquired some used fiberglass panels, perhaps I could make a bed in front of my greenhouse, south facing. I would plant sorghum at the back and they would shade the end from scorching sun in summer.

  3. thanks so much for this, just happen to have all the bits on hand. Love that you are sharing and educating what you have learned. Trying to pretend I live in the country whilst "trapped" in a fast growing (15 minute) town in Alberta.
