It’s never easy to say goodbye to a beloved companion, we sadly had to do just that for our wild and speckled pup Bandit. You were a tremendous part of our everyday lives and we are so grateful for all the time we were able to spend with you over the years. Life won’t be the same without you. We will cherish you always and never forget you stampeding around as if running was the only option, splashing and digging in any possible body of water, and most of all, looking after us. We love you Bandit, may you roam free now bask in the sunshine forever โค๏ธ

It’s the end of the growing season here in Alaska, we spend several days pulling up spent vegetables, weeding and mulching the garden beds with a good dosage of compost, leaves and straw. We also dig up our yearly supply of potatoes and get our garlic planted. After all the garden work is done we make Kolduny, a fried potato pancake filled with caribou meat and onion.

We appreciate you tagging along for our Alaskan adventure ๐Ÿ˜€

  1. It's never easy to say goodbye to a beloved companion, we sadly had to do just that for our wild and speckled pup Bandit. 2. Im so very sorry for your loss! Cherish all the memories you made with both Bandit and Beau! You gave them both a great life, and they returned it their love! I cherish all my memories with my Golden Bubba, I've always had Golden Retrievers! Bubba was that special one that was just attune with me,he brought me so much joy for 12years! Love and Peace to you both at this difficult time!!!โค

  3. My dogs name was Terra and she was so sweet for us and our children
Now we have a cat and dog how are both sweet and nougthy we love them very much
We know how it is to lose pets but we loved the time we had them with us

  4. Sweet mutt-mutt….we had to make a hard decision, too. 15 years old, spinal stenosis. Woke one morning, couldn't walk any longer. She knew we were her people and that she was loved.

  5. I would plant all the fruit trees in raise beds in a permanent greenhouse, that way you can protect them from all the snow.

  6. Really enjoyed seeing you harvesting all the colorful varieties of potatoes. French fingerling is such an elegant and amazingly productive potato. You will have so many good choices to make this winter. 178 lbs. seems a really good haul, especially for a new raised bed system. I wonder how many weeks they will feed you. Looking forward to seeing that garlic succeed, especially after the wonderful fertilizer feed you gave it. Hoping for champion sized heads next year, and that young asparagus promises years of spring feasting to come. The kolduny looked so good. Anyone who wasn't salivating after watching it cook would have to be in very ill health. Another great meal, thank you for sharing it visually with us.
Bandit was an adorable puppy and a beautiful adult dog. His passing saddens the hearts of all of us who came to know him through your videos and travels. God bless you.

  7. Your videos have given me the confidence in myself and my partner that I needed to get a pup ourselves a couple of months back because of how caring and loving you are with alll your pets. seeing you on all these many adventures with Bo and Bandit made me beliebe that it was possible. Our little dog Remo is now cuddled right up to me licking away my tears. โค๐Ÿพ

  8. Iโ€™m so sorry for the second tragic loss of your family companion. A dog loves its family unconditionally. When your grieving is over, perhaps consider two brothers from the same litter. I have over 10 waiting for me on the other side of this life. Canโ€™t wait to see them all running at me when I rejoin them.

  9. Sorry for your loss of Bandit. I have had several coonhounds and it always made me think of them when I saw Bandit in your videos.

  10. My dog passed away with me by his side, petting him 2 months and 13 days ago. The only dog I'd ever got to have, i planned for years, got a job he could come with, twice, a van for him, a cabin, then when that all fell apart, a yacht on the marina away from other dogs, then a house. 8.5yrs was all I got. The single saddest thing in my life ever. And I've been through and overcome some serious stuff. Nothing compares to losing the unconditional love of my best friend. ๐Ÿ˜ข

  11. My husband and I applied for a dog, while sitting in the Bearpaw River Brewing Company, on the last day of our honeymoon in Alaska. We were so lucky to have adopted a two year old black mouth cur from Tennessee and decided to name him Spruce so we will always remember our time Alaska โคโคโค sending you so much love

  12. Our dog Maggie was very timid with new folks. When my wife and I moved in together it was hard on her. I remember the first night she got on our couch, we were afraid to move because we didnโ€™t want to scare her. Sheโ€™s gone now, but theyโ€™re always with us.

  13. I loved my little miniature Schnauzer years ago, 1997-2014. She was always adorable and we taught her a special trick sheโ€™d do while begging: โ€˜Hi Ho Silverโ€™ because her name was Silver.

  14. I lost my little one Two years ago she was my heart and soul think of her every day her name was Kida.

  15. Pets are a part of you. They are a part of your world. I had to say goodbye to three this year. And several in the past. In memory of Brother, Zinna and Tika. All beautiful souls. In retrospect, we give them the best life we can. Bo and Bandit were very fortunate to have such a loving family.

  16. So sorry to hear of your loss, but you gave him a wonderful life just as he gave you wonderful memories to keep. Both your mates are at rest together.

  17. This brought back all the emotions I felt when we said goodbye to our beloved Smokey. My heart is breaking all over again. I know how you must feel. ๐Ÿ˜ข

  18. Brought tears to my eyes as Iโ€™ve lost 2 of my labs, one with cancer at 8 yrs old, and my Smokey at 13 yrs, I still grieve for them๐Ÿ˜ข

  19. Iโ€™m so very sorry for your loss.
Iโ€™ve had so many, many cats and I love them dearly. But Iโ€™ve only had four dogs. Somehow the loss of a dog is so much more difficult for me. I lost my Pup three years ago. He was a rescue pittie lab mix and not young when he came to live with us. He was there for the birth of my daughter and was her first best friend, our protector and my very good friend. I donโ€™t know that I have it in me to outlive another dog.
I appreciate the photo memorial of Bandit, I know it was not easy for you to do.

  20. You are both such an important part of so many lives. I hope there are pups in Alaska that are a mess and too much and you take two of them home

  21. So sorry to hear about the loss of your companion, Bandit. I'm sure that he, Beau, and also Hunter are having a happy reunion and enjoying the forever after. I know how precious they were to you and that you currently have a large empty space in your lives and hearts that they once filled. I understand because I have felt that loss, too with our kitties. Our family has always been a cat family. I am old enough to remember several who were precious to me and my family… Lucky Kitty, Ferocious Kitty (a very gentle cat with a totally opposite name), Kitty Kitty, Franny Kitty, Ellie Kitty, Gabby Kitty. All dearly loved and missed by our family.
