So many great ideas here, guys! Thanks for sharing your must-haves!
Love the demos & description of how you plan to use these products!
Love your garden but thats yukkie stuff, a garden full of plastic fantastic this fall & winter. Why not use burlap to protect your plants?????? That works as well, but I think you get payed to make a video about all plastic covers. I am Dutch, and yes I am a garderner too, but I never use plastic in my garden.
I needed this guys. Just got the news, my father was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer so this helps take my mind off of it. Please say a prayer if you don’t mind. I feel like we’re a family here so I know I can count on you distract me.
Place looks great guys. ❤
great product ideas. I was looking for better ways to protect some of my plants instead of struggling to put burlap over them.
Rock pockets … RockETS! 😁
I've had 6 Macrophylla hydrangeas for years. They've never bloomed, mostly all my fault. They have been abused, trimmed hard, not fertilized… But after watching many videos, providing proper care and a mild winter this year I have many beautiful blooms and now I'm hooked. I have never been one to protect stuff. it's survival of the fittest in my garden. My husband was just complementing them a few days ago and I said I'm really going to try to protect them this winter. Thank you!!!! Perfect timing with your video, I find so much of your content relevant to my gardening style in zone 6b Ohio.
Eric I caught that little funny. 😅
Thanks, great new ideas!
Hi Eric and Christopher.
Would you mind going over how you deal with ants and termites? I keep getting those big carpenter ants around outdoors. Sometimes they even make it inside.
Good morning. Thank you so much for this informative video. Winter is on the way.
I have those can-do series, but since they rebloom, I don't protect them as much; I do have a lot of the wee bit series hydrangeas. Those get hit and don't bloom. I have too many to buy stuff like that, so I just let nature do its turn. Some years, I will have blooms, and other years, not. I did have blooms this year on the wee-bit series.
Hi, I really like your chanel! After watching this video I wonder if I could use the super hoops to create a mini greenhouse to overwinter boston ferns. I am in Southern Illinois, zone 6 I believe, and love ferns for the summer, but always loose them when it frosts. I don't have a good place to store them for the winter. Do you think this would work?
We use collapsible laundry hampers (cut bottom in a circle if needed) that look like your tent cover. We also put cotton sheets or wool or cheap polyester blankets, too. And, we use heavy duty hardware cloth (like your bunny cages) and add lots of leaves packed around the plant (it looks more natural too). Also, in case you get to below 20, we use heated house bricks and lava rocks and put them on the dirt to keep roots and plants warm (replace every 12 hours or so depending on temp). This works with our planters in extreme temps.
I have really thinking about your hydrangea hedge. From your tours, I have been obsessed about having one and just finished purchasing the last set of hydrangeas (had to do it in stages due to time to plant and work with the ground, and cost). I have many Angel's Blush (my favorite), about 6 limelights, and at least one of most others in other places in the gardens. I will have over 50 limelight primes in the hedge (reason for primes is I am limited in height). I am really hoping you can keep the limelights and found a video that might help make your decision. On Youtube, Garden's Glory > 'A Glorious Garden Tour You Won't Want To Miss' and stop @4:00. This is what my Angel's Blush and Limelights did. They were kind of limp and small blooms (like hers on the right) when they were young. Kind of like a young puppy or kitten, not quite fully formed. After about six years, the primary stems where strong enough (need loppers to prune like hers on the left) to support huge stems on my 12 foot tall Angel's Blush and 8-10 foot tall limelight bushes with heavy blooms about 16 inches long. You might swap them, but thought I would at least try with this information.
@6:48 i just adore you too!!
I just adore both of you. Thank you so much for sharing your breathtaking garden (and knowledge) with us. You guys have taught me so much and always give me incredible inspiration. I am truly thankful for you both 💐❤
“We’re greedy for blooms”. Truer words….. 😀
Great designed products. Need to protect our plant babies 🌱
Can you tell us where you got the round obelisk in your front planters by the garage? I checked gardeners supply but didn’t
See them. Thanks! Happy fall!
Great info, thanks
Thanks for sharing. Now that end of season seeds are going on sale, I'd love to know if you buy seeds and what seeds you like. I'm already planning for next year!!
Love the tool/ garden supply review guys.
I will be very interested to see how your hydrangeas hydrangeas do with the protection. I’ve held off planting them because of our Zone 5, Midwest winters.
Good to get info on useful tools. Wondering at the end of the season how the Reminiscent blush and R.pink roses did in terms of rebloom and foliage disease. Could you please evaluate? Thanks.V.
Hi guys!! Great video, as always! I was wondering if you will be using one of the pop-ups to protect the Light-o-Day hydrangea. Also, will you use those alone, or do you plan on filling them with leaves or something else for an additional layer of protection. I think I will get some for myself for a couple of macrophyllas that never bloom for me (including "re-bloomers") Thank you!
Fun video guys! Thanks!!
