Thank you for leader demonstration. Do you deep water your new trees at any time other than when planted? I started doing this in the fall and they’ve all done well for the first few years so far. Thanks too for showing us the Stokes aster, what a great late summer addition! 💜
You teach us so much Laura! I had no idea to train a leader. Learn something new every day from you. Thank You!!
LOVE everything about those new Asters except….I am a zone 4b. Absolute bummer
😂😂😂😂😂😂
What a great video. So helpful info on pruning dead and establishing new leader! Always love planting new material! Those asters are stunning. The structure of all aspects of that variety are amazing! Thanks for taking us along!❤❤❤
I just wantt to say how mich I enjoy the music that accompanies your planting in all your videos. Thanks!
Thank you, beautiful plants.
Hi Laura I have learned so much from you, thank you. One thing I see that you are to hard on your self, when it comes to plants that don’t look good at the time of planting, you need to show them it’s part of what real gardening is, we can learn from that too, in the beginning it is not all looking perfectly.
Hi Laura, could you please demonstrate how to prune an evergreen for size control? I have a yellow ribbon arborvitae that I love but it is outgrowing the size that was listed on the tag. I need it to stay the size it is now (6 by 3).
Yea! Something else new I learned while watching your channel! I have a small Japanese maple that is growing all wonky and I knew I needed to prune it, but now I know how to create a new leader which was the main problem! Also, what ever happened to the electric pruner you demonstrated at one time. Seems like that would be helpful in cutting some of the larger branches and eliminate the need for the big loppers. Maybe it was corded and so therefore impractical, I honestly don’t remember now. Thanks so much for being so informative and fun to watch!
Great tree tutorial! Sure wish our local landscapers would watch and learn!
😊love all your videos, Thank You
Was für eine tolle Idee, einem Baum wieder ein gutes Aussehen zu verschaffen ! Super ! 🙋♀️👌🌱👍👍👍
Dear Laura, you had shown some huge elderberry plants on your neighbour's property, some yrs back. Are they still there?
Very helpful! The 17-yr cicadas did a number on my young American Hornbeam's leader.
Can you do the same new leader treatment on fruit trees?
Very interesting video, Laura! I know you know exactly what you’re doing, and that you are a fearless young woman, but I can’t tell you how glad I was when you were finished and safely back on the ground. The tree looks great now!
Love how you make it so so easy thank you ❤x
Is the leader training process the same for arborvitae too?
What I never knew you could do that to a tree good job Laura. The plantings are going to be amazing in both places so fun to watch each day. ❤
Hi Laura, we just planted 2 different Phlox varieties from Proven Winners and we're just wondering how and when you prune and fertilize yours? Thank you😊
Do you have a in depth tree trimming video.. I have what I believe is a red point maple in the back yard. I really don’t know but would guess it’s been there for over 5 years maybe closer to ten. We had a tree company out that pointed out that we had two leaders and to eliminate the weaker one. Which we did and I have been cleaning up branches that run on into each other and I think I should remove the ones that point up into the tree? We also evened up the tree a little bit after the weak leader removal.
I found the information on finding a new leader very interesting and informative. Thanks Laura.
Douglas may be anticipating starting his own channel. He’s warmed up as he used to be more grouchy
This video couldn't have come at a better time! I just got 7 new trees!
The tree leader and taping explanation was very helpful! Thank you so much for explaining it to us.
I love river birch trees too
Dougie fresh is so cute ☺️
Thank you ! So interesting!!
The “new leader” demo was very interesting and educational. Thank you. I’m so impressed that you were up on the ladder AND filming. You need a cherry picker with a basket!!
