Hi all. Total newbie here at gardening.
This apple tree hasnt sprouted anything all year. All the other fruit trees have had some fruit. You can see it has no leaves or anything.
The branches are still fairly pliable and don't break off when I bend them. The skin under the bark still seems a healthy green colour.
You'll notice in picture 2 there are a couple of globs of some viscous matter. Could that be the cause?
I'm hoping it's treatable. Any thoughts welcome!

Same thing happened one of my apple trees this year. Did a scratch test and still green underneath the bark. Hoping it’ll revive next year.
Happens sometimes the tree has a bad year , should get a huge crop next year
I’m no expert but it looks like it has too much competition from other plants around it, and also needs pruning. Lots of braches crossing each other there, I’d take half of them out. But don’t do anything with it til January when it’s dormant. Mulch around it for the time being, it won’t grow any leaves this season now
Yep, needs air imho
Hi OP,
I’m curious. Have you ever seen this tree fruit?
The picture isn’t very clear. Could you post additional pictures of close up of the leaves and tips of the branches?
