Will planting the espalied pear tree be part of the new French chateau look? Guess it wont be called cutting garden anymore?
I thoroughly enjoy each and every one of your videos. My question is where is Chedder? I havenโt seen him recently. Is he still around?
Wormwood grows wild in Alaska. Iโve made lots of wormwood tinctures over the years. It has many medicinal qualities. The wreath is beautiful.
Beautiful wreath
Grew Sweet Annie nearly 40 years ago. I made wreaths and sold them to local shops. It will shed pollen, so you may have to clean beneath it often. It could also aggravate allergies. If allowed to go to seed in the garden, it will self seed everywhere. Silver King and Silver Queen Artemisia are good gray fillers & wreath making materials; while Sweet Annie is an annual, these are perennial. Silver King and Queen must be harvested before they bloom.
Oh gosh Laura, you did such a great job, and I am not happy about a ton of ants when they crawl on me it creeps me out alot because they do bite us. Gosh that wreath you made with the Artemisia is super gorgeous and I love making wreaths with different things. I really love seeing your beautiful garden it is just gorgeous. Thanks so much for another great video that I loved watching, have a great rest of your day, sending love and hugs. bye!! ๐๐ฅฐ๐๐๐๐๐
Love the wreath. โค
Do you allow your ground to go fallow periodically?
Crona Junctions
Lovely video. Would you consider making a fresh Artemisia wreath and then let it dry in that shape? Wondering if it would be workable! Thank you
Have you ever considered putting arbors over the four benches? The boxwood will be gorgeous and bring it to your style.
WOW what a day. Free plants, breaking drip not once but twice, planting in new places, cutting plants and making a fantastic wreath and vase. Drying plants ect. Definitely a productive day. Wonderful. Thanks so very much for sharing this with us. ๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฏ๐จ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฆ
Oh, to have soil that allows you to dig a plant with your hands!
Laura, I feel for you. I've had those ant encounters in the garden before. So disconcerting. Looking forward to seeing how all those fill in next year. Could you plant the Artemisia in a bed somewhere and limb the bottom up to make it look like a small tree? Loved the music playing while you were making the wreath, which turned out so beautifully.
Laura โฆyour amazing ๐ฅฐ๐
Wow that wreath turned out beautiful altho that plant looks like a weed growing it makes z beautiful wreath. Good job. Transplanting the plants to another location was great always enjoy/look forward to your videos each day. โค
Hydrangea blooms would be beautiful in the trophy vase!!!
?? When you to out that first row what was that beautiful red plant at the end? Can I grow it in zone 5b?
Hoping you take us along when you keep/give away the rose area
Wreath love!! This season unfortunately I was hit with yellow aster and mites on all my cone flowers! In 2025 Iโll be redoing several flower beds and look forward to your inspiration to see what I may incorporate into mine. Also lucky friends and family who will get to dig up roses ๐น!!
My first introduction to Sweet Annie was at a festival 30 years ago. The barn was packed with the plant drying in the eaves. It looked ethereal hanging like that. The smell was sweet and earthy, almost overpowering in such abundance. That was the start of a love affair with this plant. So glad it was, because I have never had to replant it. It comes up everywhere. It's easily pulled and transplanted when young. So glad you made the wreath now. In my opinion, it is best to make the wreath when it is fresh and let it dry. I have used this as a base for a dried herb wreath and it is stunning. Dotting the wreath with bundles of gomphrena, strawflower and the like. And it lasts for so long. I had it just the Sweet Annie placed in crocks at the corner of our fireplace and it lasted until spring. Amazing herb, so glad you have found it! Is it wonderful to find something new after you have gardened for so long. Looking forward to the changes in the cut flower garden. Your energy and enthusiasm is a boon to my soul!
Beautiful. Tell us what your mom thinks about the wreath.
So excited to see the changes to the cut flower garden.
Laura, I want to tease you a little bit you said several weeks ago you needed to get a drip repairing tool kit in your buggy. You do itโll be a pain in the butt to set up but itโll be so much easier to have it in your gator as youโre driving around instead of having to stop what youโre doing and run back and get stuff that being said, how beautiful Iโve never seen or grown Artemisia, but itโs very feathery and very light looking, andkind of calming really kinda like it. You got a lot done you get a lot more done in one day than I get done in a month the garden as always, as beautiful and thank you so much for sharing your garden and your family with us.
I hope you/
don't take up flowers until they are dine flowering.
Might it have been easier to use an auger to dig the holes? Would it have prevented cutting the water lines?
pineapple tomatoes look like basketballs.
I love the changes – I am a "changer" too.
I obviously made my wreath request before watching the entire video!!!! Thank you Laura for reading my mind on the wreath issue. Fun video. Thank you
Your house is interesting. What is that porch used for that you hung the wreath on? Also the room that you put the large vase in is absolutely gorgeous but it doesnโt appear to have a purpose other then to hold your china hutch. Does your home have a lot of small little rooms like that? โค
Laura you must lay awake at night thinking up what to do next in your garden. A garden is never done.
I like the editing of you hitting the lines that was cute. Also a good reason to keep the mic on
Laura, you need a tackle box with all the line supplies for fixing breaks! Love the ideas for your formal flower area, can't wait to see it in action
That wreath is beautiful Laura. Iโm curious how well it holds up. Can it be sprayed to keep it together for a bit longer? Just curious. I love doing things like that myself. I do enjoy your videos. I start my morning off watching them with a good cup of coffee. Thank you!
As always, enjoyed your video.
You are so lucky that you don't have fire ants in your area. Here in NC you would never kneel down or stick your hands in the soil without checking for ants. They even get in our containers on the ground. I use cinnamon or Cyanne pepper in the pots mixed in the soil to keep them out.
This wormwood….isn't highly poisonous? It's beautiful ๐
Just my opinion and not a negative to you , but I will never understand your love of the boxwoods.
I'm hoping you incorporate red into the landscape like you did this year laura ……I used to be like you .I had an aversion to red for many years .I slowly over last several years incorporated red and I'm enjoying it's color
