Expect 53 F in the morning to 82 F in the afternoon in Swanzey, NH. It is New England!
You are an amazing friend, Ben is such a treat to watch.
Interesting perspective. My take on canning is to be able to watch until the next garden is ripe for harvest t. A secondary reason to can excess is that we have no idea how productive our garden will be the following year. Regardless, you do you. Have a blessed day.
Jess, I apologize if this has been answered but where do you get your tank tops? I love that fit and style! They look perfect for gardening in the south.
Thank you for being You, I have had a very rough ,sorrowful week and you have brought light to my soul 🌸
OK THE NEXT STEP IN THAT KIND OF FUN IS TO GET A CAR HOOD PUT SOME ROPES ON IT THAT THE BOYS CAN HOLD ON TO TIE IT THE (YOU WILL FIGURE IT OUT ) TRACTOR AND PULL THEM THROUGH THE PASTURE STANDING ON HOOD PASTURE SURFING JUST AS MUCH FUN AS A PARENT WATCHING ❤❤❤❤😆🤣😂BOYS WILL LOVE IT
At 3:52 Everyone was screaming, you MISSED one! But you did that on purpose, didn't you? wink lol
I can hardly wait to see you guys harvest the pumpkins. Growing pumpkins is one of my favorite parts of gardening . I can't grow many because I'm so limited on space, but I try to grow one mochata type every yr. It looks like you will have a great harvest from the few glimpses you've given us.
LOL! We used a blower to move our small boat around the pond when we were pulling up weeds around the edge! It is much easier from the water side than going down the banks and not falling in. Especially since we saw Jae the water snake cruising out there! 😂😂🤣🤣I am redefining my garden for next year seeing what worked and what didn't in the first year growing in the 14 beds we added to our country front yard!
You are very fortunate to have a long going season, which would be perfect. But some of us are in a much shorter growing season. Best wishes
It’s so joyful to see you loving your garden again! You seem so much happier. I’ve followed you since you were in Arkansas. Your giggle is back about your joy of the garden and I love to see it. Bless you! ❤️🥰
Ben needs a shop of his own to build the first actual landspeeder.
Awe Ben, I love the cool ride!😊
I harvested a ton of herbs today. We have had cooler nights and they were starting to lag a bit. Drying a bunch. I think picking green beans is my favorite thing, next to tomatoes of course. My boys like to come to my garden and play ISPY green beans with me. Thanks for sharing this wonderfully joy filled video.
🌸
Before I even heard his voice, I knew that was Jesse helping with the backboard. 🤣
I love this. Never a dull moment with boys around. 😊
Sounds like you're rediscovering succession planting, how lovely!
I really hope the pole for the goal is in concrete. The last high winds we had in Louisiana blew my grandkids goal over an shattered the backboard. We had lowered it for the storm but it didn’t help.
my dog eats all my fig tree leaves
Loved this video
After the shop is built, it looks like the boys will need their own slab for basketball and leaf blower skateboarding 😊
So I’ve been working on my house, but maybe one thing at a time like one day do one project.easy project..I am see a difference..
I grab a box whatever Amazon box empty box .. and fill it with stuff that I don’t want or don’t need and if it’s full, I put it in the hatchback of my car so when I’m out and about, I can take it to the church or the thrift store or somewhere and that is working well there’s always something you see like I have this well it’s time to let it go the box thing works if you can fill a box within the week or even if you fill in the day, take it to your vehicle ASAP so when you’re out and about, you can take it somewheres or give it to Friend. I actually have some fall decorations that I’ve been wanting to give to a friend, but she hasn’t had a chance to come by , and I don’t have time to go to her house either
I hope you’re preparing for the hurricane Francine
Sending love from Mississippi
I do envy your ability to grow all winter. We just don't get enough light here, plus weeks of below freezing temperatures. I did more succession sowing for the summer garden this year (we grow roots in the summer here) and it has been fantastic. Now I need to figure out volume for each planting. Looking forward to seeing you at HONE!
I can't wait to welcome you to New England this weekend ❤
My family and I are coming to NH this weekend! Im so excited!! 😊
This year my garden didn’t do as well as I’d hoped it would. Got about half as much as I should’ve, maybe less. Still better than what it did last year, but I also decided to offer a csa share to help pay for the irrigation system that I wanted to put in, so I ended up having to give 90% of what I did get away. My parents offered me a small garden plot at their place though so next year I’m going to grow all my preserving produce there and have my back yard garden as just a kitchen garden instead. I think it’ll work out better, and I do like the idea of growing to eat for dinner and not worrying as much about the preservation.
It’s a start. I’m up to my eyeballs with crook neck squash.
Good plan. Fresh is fabulous and fantastic!
Mindfullness in the garden via succession sowing. I love it! 🌱🌾🌿
I watched a little bit of the debate and then I had my fill and I saw you had a new video and it was a great cleanse and just what I needed! Thank you.
Oh my goodness. Your Ben reminds me so much of my Elliott 😂
Simple pleasures are the best!
Good for you! As you stressed, you are able to garden this way and that is just fantastic. But for some the goals of the garden are different. In the spring, summer and fall I gorge on fresh vegies but always from rows that are planted with the goal of preservation to be used during the months when all we can grow is snow banks! lol. That's the nice thing about gardens, they are personal! Good job!
I do it both ways. that way I have a back up
Carrots right out of the ground is pretty close to a fresh picked tomato. But they don't make great sandwiches.
What an imagination! I love it! Ben is amazing 😊
Yes, it is important to be able to eat fresh from the garden, but still very important to preserve some for future uncertainties! You are so right! Bless you!
So agree with you on the harvesting! Such joy!
I love that you are changing your goal. I always wondered why living in the climate you do why you wouldn't make that your focus. Growing in Minnesota, we are forced to grow everything in 3-4 months to have it for the rest of the year. I definitely wouldn't do that if I lived somewhere I could grow year round and I would love to watch you all do that when I'm in the cold depths of winter 😂❤
Thank you for sharing ❤
Ben is so cute❤
Fermented honey? What /how do you make that?!?
So more like succession planting? I totally get it, sometimes I get so wrapped up on freezing Beans that I don't enjoy them fresh! Thank You Jess for all you do!💗💗💗
My son definitely would have been making jokes about Ben’s epic farts powering that skateboard 😂😂😂 oh boys. lol
You sure can tell hes Mias
Would love to know who gifted you the Seychells beans to thank them and ask them more questions about them.
I love your new approach! That is how I am able to enjoy my couple of square meters of garden the most. And I especially love your ability to adjust. Not stick to principles and habits, but change and evolve. Thanks for another lovely video ❤
Just curious, about what percentage do you think you are self suffcient with your food production. Milk, eggs, meat, all of it, not just the garden.
