Today is phase 2 of our outdoor landscaping plans. With 20 acres and a blank slate for backyard landscaping, we have a lot of work ahead of us. But we completed the build out of our raised garden bed designs with stunning Modern Raised Beds from Vego Garden (with thanks for their partnership).

Two Raised Garden Bed Designs I Love + Planting a Hillside Flower Garden
25 Comments
BEAUTIFUL!!
Your hillside garden is amazing . 😊
Faux flowers outside?!?! MY HERO!!! Well worth the money vs buying near future dead ones. 😊
Edited to add… everything you've done is stunning! I would definitely add a firepit to relax and enjoy that view.
It is coming along beautifully!
I ❤ the stone steps! I, too, use artificial flowers in pots where it isn’t easy to water and save my time, energy, and money for the plants I love to take care of.
Love your hillside garden! Minus the snake 😰 it looked like a black snake ? They are actually beneficial but I can’t abide them close to my house ! Love the raised beds , I grow spring cool crops like lettuce, beets etc . Then a tomato plant or two , cucumber on a trellis, peppers. Then fall I grow carrots, more beets and green beans because I live in zone six central Mo. I also did potatoes and onions and currently have one bed in strawberry’s .
So fun to watch your progress
Well done!
A snake! You are so brave. I couldn’t, I know, it’s nonsense. But I just love the vision. Those steps are amazing. I heard snakes don’t care for marigolds 😅
Oh Grace…. looks wonderful, a lot of work went into this. One suggestion from a long time gardener… raised navy bed…..looks like a False Indigo (Baptisia) planted in there…. you will want to remove, and plant on your hillside, or in the ground by raised beds. They get 3 ft tall and once established ( 2 yrs) you can;t move big woody tap root.Trust me on this!!! Im excited to see how the rest of the landscaping goes.
Lookin good! Great job! Gardening is hard work but so rewarding! You’re such a hard worker!! Loving your channel! 🪴🪴🪴🪴
Zinnias are a great summer annual. Grown from seed, they grow quickly and will give you beautiful flowers
Love the stone steps ❣️
I look forward to seeing your pumpkins growing over the trellis!
You are such a"
hard working, Lady" ALL looks Amazing!
The stone steps are perfect! Everything is coming together Sarah!
Love love those steps!
❤❤❤
Love the design of the hill garden with the steps, it looks beautiful. Your property is huge so my suggestion is to not make it to many plants you have to maintain just shrubs that are low maintenance.
The slab steps are absolutely stunnung! My favourite part of your garden 😊
Your faux flowers look really good. You have really good taste and you did an excellent job on the landscaping.
I like what you did with the rocks on the hillside.
Sarah, I know it’s going to all come together nicely. Loving your landscaping on the slope and hope thunderstorms don’t wash the mulch away. You have a plan and I’m excited
Looking good 😅
Oh my gosh❤❤ faux flowers in my flower boxes is such a genius idea 😊. Thank youuuu!! I never thought of that.
Bee balm, aka monarda, would be a good choice. Great for actual bee or yellowjacket stings, too. And a great smell from the crushed leaves (when used as balm for a bee sting)
How about a skating pond/pool in that area you're looking to fill? I've seen a huge outdoor hit tub shaped like a swimming pool at one of the Michigan ski resorts. Not sure how they do it, but having a skating rink might be fun for when the family grows. And if easily revertable, can be adapted to something else later. (No shallow pools around for babies or toddlers, however, so may want to wait)
