You could also tie-up your herbs to dry.
Marigolds saved my tomatoes. In zone 10b our pests never go away. Marigolds and nasturtiums and tomatoes in one bed. The two flower plants attract the bad nematodes. And the bed is beautiful.

Your yellow flower is a canna lily! It will die back after the first freeze, just trim it back and it will come back next spring and multiply! You can even divide it and plant in other areas. Loving your channel!!

Must have been a good summer for basil in VA! Mine is hanging up in my bedroom closet. The look on my husband’s face when he saw it. 😂 He’s slowly getting used to the weird things us gardeners do!
