I planted 3 Sweet Talkers from quart size in Spring 2022 in was 7B/now 8A North Metro Atlanta. They survived the cold weather blast that winter even though we weren't sure if they were going to bounce back or not. Right now, I've got one blooming, one that retained its leaves all winter and is ready to bloom soon, and one that shriveled up and then defoliated from winter damage. The one that is full of flowers right now is in more full shade (but does get some afternoon sun) and tucked between our fence and the house, so it is well protected from winter winds. The one that retained its leaves all winter is on the other side of the fence, also tucked against the house and gets part sun and the 3rd one is at the front of the house so it gets the southern exposure full sun and has the most exposure to winds as well. So if someone wants them to remain evergreen as much as possible, I'd definitely recommend placing them in a place where they are a bit more protected. Their fall color is gorgeous and they are one of my favorites!
So happy to hear your 2024 opening day was a huge success!
The hellebores are gorgeous… you can’t find them in my area😢
I love the plant-tone so much that my hubby is hunkering for the grass option. Do you carry it at the nursery? Thank you for all of the wonderful information 🤗
Cool video 😅❤🎉
Good morning, I have a lamium that is called Purple Dragon, I am in zone 5b in Upper Illinois and it is a perennial for us. is your lamium a different type of species that it only goes down to Zone 7?
Everything is waking up here in the south, so ready for Spring. Creekside is going to be absolutely beautiful, can’t wait ❤
The weather was so nice yesterday in the 50’s I went outside to see what was going on , what the rabbits destroyed what started budding up how the daffodils were doing and I was a little disappointed then I remembered it’s ONLY February! In Michigan it’s still supposed to be winter, quite possibly getting more snow so now I’m glad things aren’t waking up, well a few things are but hopefully they will decide to go back to sleep until late March maybe even mid to late April. The rabbits did a number on my newly planted , last summer El Niño Chipotle shrub they didn’t girdle it at ground level so I’m hoping because it flowers on new wood that it will recover from the damage it took. If it lives next year it’s going to get caged along with several others. Gotta get the hubby working on building more shrub cages for next winter. ❄️🫠💚🙃
My favorite annual is zinna😊 happy early birthday 🎉
Jerry should have thrown up the drone to show us at a distance a little glimpse of the reopening ❤
Thanks Jenny and Jerry. ❄️🫠💚🙃
I bought and potted up some peony and bleeding heart tubers yesterday. Can I keep them on my screen porch or should I bring them into the house? I know they can both take low temps but our last frost date is mid may. I live in Indiana 5b-6a. Temps have been very warm but Im still seeing high 20s at night.
Think we have a good chance at a early spring here in Michigan 😃🪴🪴🪴
Atleast there is a useful Biden. 🤣😂🤣 poor plants what a name.
It was so Wonderful to meet you all on Opening day- well worth the drive from Michigan! You and all of your family and staff are so kind. Thank you for your hospitality. We will definitely plan another trip when everything is in full bloom. I look forward to your videos each day- you are the best!
Robbie, it looks so so good! Don’t forget to do some stretches before you get out in the garden. Advice given from a 61 year old who should be listening to her own advice! I love drinking my coffee and watching you and Janey every morning. ❤
HELLEBORES! OH. MY. WORD! 💜🩷 🤍
Watching you from Delaware.
We bought some Lenton roses from you last year. Beautiful, but sadly they rotten in the flood a month ago. 😢 we also bought 3 azaleas, 1 never lost its leaves thru the winter, the other 2 still don't have any leaves. Is that normal? I used bio-tone when I planted them and watered regularly. I hope they make it.
Yup! I messed up the displays again this season opening! 😅 And yes! I've been hardening off the petunias and callabrachias we purchased. They were on the dry side. A little water and daily sun did the trick! Very noticeable difference in less than a week!
Imagine a world where everyone plants some hellebores 😍
Thanks Jenny and Jerry.
Today I’m pulling leaves out of my foundation beds and laying fresh mulch. It is 🥰🥰🥰. I can’t wait to see little hostas poking through the fresh mulch. Promises of spring/summer abundance!
Hi 👋 Jenny
Jenny.. Watch the use of your pointing finger. Look at time stamp 30:10. Hopefully people won't take it the wrong way. 😮
A beautiful video of all the annuals! So exciting to see everything starting to bloom!
Those Shades of Pink viburnums are beautiful specimens!
So happy your opening day went well. If I lived closer I would have made the trip.
Sorry but must ask…do you really maintain your felco’s like that? Mine are old but are my friend. Just noticed today they aren’t as sharp. I took them to be sharpened a few years ago…they looked at me like I was crazy. Please provide guidance without selling. You are so delightful, love watching your videos.
Love from a somewhat senior! 🤣
Asparagus fern is the first fern I’ve ever over wintered in the house without the annoying leaf drop and eventual death of the Boston/Kimberly ferns I’ve attempted. I’m impressed
Thx Jenny. Lovely tour.
