Fertilizing is an important part of container gardening as nutrients are leeching out of the potting mix each time you water. I fertilize my herb garden about once a week, which is more often than my other annuals in larger containers.

  1. Happy TGIF Miss Chicago Gardener!!!!! Glad that you're having another "Good Hair Day"!!!! ; ) So HOT!!! So Lovely!!!! So Beautiful!!!!! : )

  2. Oh, I am so loving your herb garden! That is a collection I hope to master one day. I love all those mints! I am going to have to get some more of those.

  3. I like to store my flexible hose in a nice decorative pot. So that no one can tell what's in it. Also drains any water that's left in the hose, so no mosquitos.

  4. Your setup is so beautiful! I’m wondering if the iron feet of the pot stands stain the floor. Thank you!

  5. Just watched a video from Hello Garden. She too likes herb teas. She is growing apple mint and loves it. Just sharing…don’t grow mint and don’t drink tea. 🤪

  6. Absolutely love your herb set up. The terracotta pots are fabulous. The stands all of it is so inspirational. It actually makes me want to go out to my garden. (and it's night out now) lol

  7. Hi Bethany! Your herb garden looks great in the terracotta pots. I thought most perennial herbs don’t need additional fertilizing or amendments since they like poor soil. Do you do fertilize because they are in containers?

  8. Alil later in the season, add some morbloom with that fish fertz. It's a type of fish fertz(same company) but it's 0-10-10.

  9. Bethany the herb garden looks beautiful! That fish fertilizer is amazing!! I use it on all my plants, the tomatoes love it! Another fertilizer that I use is Maxsea, it’s pricey so I use it on my roses. Great video!

  10. Great video! I have chocolate mint and strawberry mint as well.
Question: how do you use the specialty varieties??

  11. I also love the flexible hoses for my small garden. I've got 2, both on wall mounted holders. One is plastic and the other metal. I find the wall reels annoying, especially if you only unspool part of the hose, once you condense it the loops just do their own thing and catch on the hose reel (especially the metal which has shaper edges). I'm thinking of trying a decorative basket to pool it in instead!
