  1. Exciting times, Laura! Things are coming together. You are such a thoughtful neighbor, and I'm sure they appreciate you for that. But I think they're enjoying seeing everything evolving and looking so beautiful! Your chickens and fish are beautiful. They know you're a good person, they come right to you. Ahh, the country life…love it!

  2. I love that you planted the "clearance section-looking" puffer fish hydrangeas! So much of my garden is actually from the half off clearance rack, and it's so gratifying to see them bounce back the following year and look fabulous!

  3. Somewhere along the way I guess I missed that you lost your favorite chicken, Bev? And I’m guessing the other three give you enough eggs so you won’t be getting another? Won’t say replace because Bev seemed special.

  4. It's a pleasure to accompany you as you plan and work. I wish we would have been blessed with someone like you 50 years ago. God bless all of you.

  5. Are you planning on taking what's left of the pallet walkway out? I am also wondering if you will put permanent brick edgers around the chicken coop. I feel like that would button up that area. I truly love how you plant drifts and intermingle them. That's what I'm working on in my gardens.

  6. Feeding the fish – fun! The Heucherellas look beautiful there. I love that superbena border – those two colors look so great together. About another month and the Dream Stream project – I'm so looking forward to it and how it will change the landscape back there.

  7. Start.
Ing to look really good Laura. And that makes you feel so much better when you can see more coming along.

  8. Hi Laura! I have a chaste tree-light blue flowers. I am in Michigan Detroit suburb 6b. It comes back well. I think it is about 7’ tall this year. Think this is about the 4th year! Very pretty!.

  9. Love all the changes you all have been making over the years! And it keeps on going! Can’t wait to see what else you end up doing 😍

  10. I live in central Indiana and my chaste tree varies each year. Some years it dies mostly to the ground, some years it is alive chest high, but EACH year, it reaches the gutters on my one story house.

Mine does NOT stay 4-5 feet wide and some branches seem to WANT to grow wide and low. They smell quite odd when pruned.

  11. I’ve always wondered if chickens can happily live in full shade because that’s my only option. Do they need a few hours of sunlight to stay healthy?

  12. At 13:55 you showed a gorgeous caryopteris. I have 3 caryopteris planted in a group. They were supposed to get 4ft x4ft. They are definitely that if not even wider! I have one of them planted about 4ft from a water line- a sewer line. Would you move them away? I’m worried about their roots messing up the pipes. Thoughts?

  13. The chicken coop needs a water feature!! A little pondless waterfall or a little stream!

  14. What you both have accomplished by transforming the surface of mars into these stunning garden beds is mind-blowing!! Random question: Have any famous people (to any degree) reached out to admire your work over social media?? Thank you for the work you do to show us your space 😄😁

  15. That big grey fish is like a small submarine! I think giant swathes of floral color are beautiful! I say go for it next year!

  16. Whoever adds in the correct name of the flowers or plant does awesome! With the possibility of horses later , do already plan ahead of time what type of plants will be safe near their grazing area?

  17. The pallet boardwalk needs to go. You've chopped away at it until it's only a few feet long. Looks kinda silly.

  18. I apologize if you mentioned this already and I missed it…but, do you know if the pufferfish hydrangea come in any other colors? Thanks!

  19. I think at one time you mentioned trying to find a local beekeeper to perhaps put some hives in your garden. With all the pollinators you have it would be such a win, win! ❤️🐝❤️🐝❤️🐝❤️🐝❤️🐝❤️🐝

  20. When you revise the chicken coop area will the pallet walkway be taken up and replaced with flagstone?

  21. Am I the only one who flinches everytime Laura just drops plants on the ground. I try to be so careful and gentle with new plants. 😮
