I live in upstate NY.

I have never had poison ivy and have been in the area of it planty of times where other people have all got it and I was fine.

I was recently doing some yard work and pulling some vines off of my fence as well as ripping up a ton of creepy charlie from my garden.

Over the last few days I've developed some very itchy spots as well as a small rash. Trying to figure out so I know how to better handle on the future.

I've also pulled these before but didn't experience many issues.

    Agreed, poison ivy.
The best trick I ever learned was that alcohol inactivates the urushiol, which causes the rash. Have a spray bottle of rubbing alcohol around or, in a pinch you can use hand sanitizer.

Be cautious because if you start getting sensitized to it, you can get MORE sensitized and react more if you touch it later.

I spray it with brush killer. My wife puts on heavy rubber gloves and pulls it up, then washes everything that touched it.
