Wow…never heard of it before. Now I know. I haven’t seen that before, but I will keep my eye out now. I don’t grow Asters or cornflowers, but I actually deadheaded purple and yellow cornflowers to spread around my yard next year. They didn’t have that on any of the flowers when they were in full bloom thank goodness. Great research Kaye, and thank you for spreading the word ❤
you might want to put it
in a baggie and take to the county ag dept that helped you before they may have good advice
Being alive. Breathing. Slavery. Yes honey. It’s all bad very bad we know we just refuse to group up and help each other. But yes it is all BAD right now.
how about next year reducing where you plant and buying the weed cloth that living traditions recommends
Reminds me of Rose Rossette disease.
Good morning Miss Kaye. Where does the disease come from originally? 😢
Thank you! I had never heard of this. I think a metal trash can used as a burn barrel might be the easiest wày for me to dispose of the infected plants. What a mess this could be. God bless and keep you. 🌷💜
No infections in my corner of South Florida🙏!
my guess is its transported via hay-straw due to animal
feed/manure,,,,,,, also certain compost mixtures lord knows what is in animal medication my dad said this would be the future of hmesteading Ed
I wondered what blouse that is too Kaye, does it breathe?
My Sloggers hat saved me many times from spiders & earwigs.
Hate those ticks!!
Have not heard about this disease before but I have killed those leafhoppers in my small garden on pepper and potato plants. So sorry this has happened in your garden but that is how we learn. Thanks so much for bring this disease to our attention so we can be on guard. Between ticks and mosquitoes I don't know which is worse so important to be protected when out in nature. Have a blessed week..
Thanks Kaye for this most important yet disturbing information, love is the key, always 💞
Kaye put you on pause and went out and checked my cone flowers in multiple places in my gardens. I HAVE IT. We are going to go on a digging spree. Thanks for the info!!!
So glad to hear you talk about this. A couple years ago my large patch of Michaelmas Daisy (aster) was wilty and yellow but bloomed just fine, again the next year and that's when I learned about this disease. I had never heard of it, again thanks for sharing this info.
My husband wears sleeves (Cotten or the spfmaterials) everyday in summer and winter. His grandfather done the same thing. He says it keeps his skin from burning and is actually cooler! I’m sorry you’re having such a time with your asters but the place looks so busy and well loved.
Wow, wow, wow! A lady in my bldg bought summer flowers for the large pots that all buildings have out front. I had the job of watering & caring for (deadheading) these flowers .. this lady goes over to the beach for a week or 5 days at a time. I made sure when she returned home that the flowers looked their best. This time this lady went to the beach another woman on my floor was to be watering the flowers. I happened to pass by these pots late one afternoon (I usually don’t as my garage is just outside the stairwell and my unit is right across the hall from that stairwell, so I’m usually using that) and I noted half of one of the pots had flowers which looked like were dying from lack of water. So I went out got the water pitcher and watered them. That side did perk up a bit but upon further inspection their were aphids everywhere on this part of the plant yet those aphids weren’t on the other side. It was disgusting. I bought an organic spray which would supposedly kill the aphids.. um, it didn’t work.. I think the infestation was too far ahead of responding to the spray. I went down late one night to check the plant and to deadhead some of the dead blooms, it was dark outside, the aphids were all over my sleeve… ugg, felt buggy, buggy, buggy until I was able to a shower. Thank you for all your garden tips, kitty sightings, etc… oh, I bought a loofah for in the shower.. thought of you .. a lady standing near me heard me say to myself something like, “I’ll never be able to buy a loofah w/o thinking of Kaye” … she asked me, who is Kaye? 😁 We chatted a bit, told her about your utube channel. Hopefully she will visit here! Xx…✌🏻
