Finally getting around to sorting out the garden in my new place, grass has certainly seen better days.

Looking for some advice on the best way to tackle this, to be perfectly honest I’ve no idea what I’m doing and how to save it

Rake it, seed it, throw a layer of top soil on top. Be grand

Rake it vigorously and remove the dead grass. Scatter cornflower, corncockle and corn marigold seeds in a week or sos time. Lightly rake again. You’ll have a wildflower patch next summer.

After a week of rain and it will be fine, this is how grass should be after a dry summer. At least you are not one of those phycopaths who waters their lawn during summer.
