They are good but you have to turn them or you only get sun on one side I found. Also you have to have them on the flat or they move, especially if there’s any wind. I’ve just got rid of mine for that reason. I got mine from a catalogue in the UK.
I'm looking forward to seeing this as I have one that goes down a wall, so I will be interested in finding out what can actually grow in them.
I love my GreenStalk which I bought this year from a company in Sweden. (GrowTowers EU, very reasonable shipping costs). I bought additional tiers and the plant support rings from them as well.
I am interested in hearing there is now a UK distributor as I want another one. I look forward hearing the price.
Is it greenstalk? I’m planning to buy one at the end of this year but it seems I can only get it from the EU.
I have 1 Greenstalk. Filled to the brim with bush beans that will be ready to pick in a couple days. 👍
I wouldn't plant strawberries in it. You wouldn't be able to plant anything else in it for years unless you pulled them.
Enjoy your August coffee. Kevin.
I have seen others using them Ivan, look forward to seeing how you get on with it. If you recommend them will definitely buy one. Thanks for sharing.
Ivan, that is very exciting. I look forward to you demonstrating the green stalk. I have been curious about them. Edit: Ivan, what a wonderful addition to your container garden.
Thanks Ivan, I have seen them before but were only supplied from the USA, I don't think now that I'll have space for one but I think that they are brilliant. Have a lovely weekend. Take care and all the best. Stevie
I've had a Greenstalk for 4 years. There are some cons to it, like the bottom dries out faster than the top, it does need to be turned if setting it up on a covered deck. But the plus side is how much food can be grown in it. For bigger plants I alternate pockets so they don;t shade out each other. It makes a great herb garden. For small space gardening I love it. And mine still looks brand new after being in the hot Texas sun for 4 years and freezing cold spells in the winter. I think you will love it. I've got stawberries in the top layers, celery, basil, chard, and chives in mine right now.
Great video Ivan, can't tell you how excited I am to see what you grow! 🥳🌻🌻
I've seen these used in USA but have not been able to find them in Euriope. Do you think this lady with ship to the Netherlands?
This is going to be so exciting. I ha e 4 and they are amazing!
Sounds great and something I may add to my Christmas wish list !
Hi Ivan, Kate & Eli on YouTube use one and they work very well, I've been trying to get one. I will order asap.
We've had a large 6 stack triangular tower for well over 20 years and its quite good but they do have several inherent problems. The most important for your situation would be wind resistance. They quickly become very top heavy/unstable during sudden rain and we've found strong winds have toppled ours over creating a lot of mess, not to mention damage to the plants.
They really need a flat level solid base and regular rotation unless you ensure those plants which require direct sun are all on the south facing side with more shade tolerant plants elsewhere. Make no mistake, rotating one of these things fully planted up and wet is quite a job. Obviously the taller it is, the heavier and more cumbersokme it becomes. Putting it either somewhere sheltered from the wind or suporting it somehow would be a very good idea. The support would just need to prevent it toppling over but if you want to rotate the tower then it'll also need to allow that.
Eli & Kate in Scotland uses one of these. Perhaps have a look at their channel 😊
i have 2 grow towers from denmark i imported this year and they are brilliant
wonder how many will go on a wish list for Christmas. Me no. 1 you will have fun with it.
I have 2 Greenstalks now getting ready to plant my herbs seeds just have to amend the soil. You will love them.

I've heard such good things about greenstalks, I'm very curious to see what you make with it!
Ooh, I've had my eye on these planters for some years!
