  1. Random ? But trying to get some perspective on the changes in the yard … what part of the yard use to be that cute little fenced off butterfly garden you created with Benjamin bordered by strawberries ?❤

  2. Cooler temperatures are on the way!!! The temperatures in my area hit 117- 120F this Summer, this past week has been around 105 -106F, and the next 3 days are forecast to be a high of 96F!!! I'm so excited!!! I think I survived another brutal Summer!!! YAY!!! I'm so looking forward to Fall and Winter, out here it's mild, it can occasionally dip below zero but not without a heads up and I just dress accordingly. We had all that rain over the 23/24 winter and this spring zipped by too fast and my yard was overrun with mustard weeds and then summer just slammed us, over a hundred+ before May even finished up and every day for the last 3 months. At my age, I can no longer handle the heat, it makes me physically ill and I have to hide till it's below a consistent 90F. So, the cooler temps are greatly welcome and I'll be able to get out there and get my yard back under control and enjoy my "Happy Place" I have set up in my yard. I'm sure my neighbors will appreciate it too! It's not like me to have a disaster of a yard, but there's a reason they say old age is not for sissy's! I try my best as long as the weather cooperates! God bless you all!!!

  3. Hi Laura The Mangavia I know there like Hens and Chick's and form babies. Is there any use in trying to plant the bloom head ? Just curious Watched your channel since beginning and still look up things I know you have covered.Love to watch how beautiful family and land has grown. 🌼🌻🏵 PS: Love the Mom and sister shopping trips ❤

  4. Not a fan of mangaves but I love how you are adding more boxwoods. Looking forward to seeing the finished area.

  5. Might be worth checking in the coop. Maybe a snake or rodent. Our chickens usually fussed for a reason.
Everything is beautiful as always. Watching your video brings so much joy to my day.

  6. I live the vinca minor ground cover for those though spots. It seems to do well in both shade and sun and the delicate periwinkle flowers are fun and sporadic.

  7. Hey, Laura! Would you consider some kind of pavers that could still let in the ocasional rain water through? I think Bunny Guiness has some projects where she mixes gravel, stone and a diferent type of brick to create patios with varied textures. I think it would be lovelly specially around this fontain in front of the house and between the boxwood loops hedge under the four maples… I feels it could be better than just mulch? I don´t know, it´s a sugestion

  8. Love real, live chickens; they have personalities. I'd give them canned corn – drained as a treat, and the entire barn yard would fly to me when I was broadcasting them including the white doves. It was fun to see them coming and eating their treat when I finished my chores and was ready to leave.

  9. those hens had some things to say this morning!! lol.. so sweet and cute… i admire your success with transplanting things the way you do… i'm getting better at it: water and biotone! but sometimes it's a wish and a prayer for whatever i move to survive… i do like the boxwood next to the chicken coop – too bad about all the spider mite troubles you've had -hope the biologics are working for you!! love mangaves.. they are used down in here socal often – and are just such unusual and mostly easy plants (you do have to watch for some pests)… the bloomstalks are amazing and in my experience, the bees love them! the blooms last a long time and there are always so many bees on them… yours is very impressive!!! 🥰❤thanks for the video!!! 🥰❤

  10. Great cleanup. Your Mangave reminds me of a Yuka plant with its Center spike. I’ve got a snake plant in the house that just finished blooming it’s the first one I’ve ever seen bloom and its flower had little white poofs something like the Mangave flower.

  11. When hubby and I were stationed in St. Thomas, USVI….there were tons of what we called, “Century Plants!” They look very similar to your blooming mangave. At Christmas time, Christmas trees were hard to come by and expensive, so we would cut down the dead or dying bloom stalks and bring them into our homes and decorate them for Christmas. ❤

  12. Just a thought: Every county in the US has a Cooperative Extension Office that offers university-based information to home gardeners, community groups, and businesses. These offices provide fact-based, localized guidance tailored to each area. In a previous recap video, you discussed your approach to using pesticides. What you’re practicing is known as Integrated Pest Management, which is a major focus of the Extension Service.
