Monitor your squash plants in June and remove squash bug eggs! Squash bugs can cause significant damage to squash plants as the adult and immature bugs (nymphs) feed on the plant sap. Look for clusters of shiny, copper-colored eggs on the undersides of the leaves of squash plants. Tear them out of the leaves and crush the eggs or drop them into a container of soapy water to prevent them from hatching.
