Lil guy fell off mom during a long car ride (moving to a different state). At first I kept him in dry soil hoping for roots but now underneath looks a little dry/puckered (2nd pic). He's been in dry soil for about 10 days. Did he fall off too early? Any tips/pointers would be much appreciated!

you can’t. it has no chlorophyll.
these are 2 different species. the red one is a human made color to look fancy but cannot grow on its own so they graft it onto the green one. any red pieces cannot grow on their own unless grafted to something else or if they have some green parts
