Brooklyn man said he’s been “ghosted” amid dispute with community garden
A Brooklyn man continues to worry over the condition of his home. The issue comes from challenges to repair his property because of a neighboring community garden. CBS News New York’s Hannah Kliger reports.
Hmm. I dont know all the details but so far it sounds like he is responsible for water proofing his foundation regardless of what they do. Any other property owner would have to pay the entire expense on their own of maintaining the foundation and mitigating the water runoff.
So for all you who don't know, you can see the water proofing on my side is coming off. In addition how can I keep fixing something they keep destroying. Look like many of you don't understand how the building department and the way permits work in NYC. You are not allowed to repair property that is not yours. Which the Garden is not mine, but it leaks into my property. Hence the destruction. But thanks for the useless feedback. I wish you all luck
BQLT sounds like Bolt so then then is it to move him out on 1st glance but it's a water issue if he hadn't had water on his property and this is new then the Trust should have to pay for his damages this is my first inclination anyway I have no idea about BQLT
I can explain the situation as a former homeowner in bedstuy Brooklyn the issues with the home has nothing to do with garden the home is very old and if falling apart due to the structure being old and damaged the rain and snow will ruin your home if structural was not properly maintained just like nyc subways are falling apart and needs repair to blame the garden is a easy come up
No No No .. as a homeowner he has to water proof his foundation , from the bit its shown in the video the graden has a bit of a distances a walk path from his property enough for him to make some changes before “collapsing “ . He needs to do better for his property and not blame the garden . It’s just seem poor maintenance on their behalf .
It's unlear why the homeowner, and this news story's producer apparently, believe the damage has anything to do with the community garden. The homeowner even said, "everytime it rains or snows" it leaks. Did it not rain and snow before the garden moved in? Did anyone suggest to him that any building is gonna need to be maintained over 50 years of use? Are his roof and gutters still functional? Why is this even a story?

Sounds like he needs to maintain the home better.
if you can't afford to fix it don't buy it. his bad foundation would leak whether the garden was there or not…
It looks like he doesn’t maintain the home well enough. Probably looking for a lawsuit or for someone else to pay for the upkeep of the home smh
These people live with roaches and bed bugs

He needs to fix his own building and stop looking for others to do it. Ridiculous.
