Do E. milii automatically start branching at some point? This is one of my oldest plants (I have only had houseplants for 5 years or so) and she has grown so much, but has not branched.
To complete the body text: The chopsticks and tape were put in a year or two ago when she was not as stable. Perhaps poor root growth could be a reason for not branching?

Maybe the branching is induced by strong light? I put all of my euphorbias on direct sunlight and they all started branching when they are way smaller than that, sometimes right away after i got the tiny plants or cuttings.

I think you may have to prune it. The owner of the nursery talks about pruning forcing side growth as he beheads an e. Milii near the end of this video: https://youtu.be/IB5zY4HRd20
