  1. This question is off the subject of the video but I need an answer soon. My potatoes are starting to die back and wilt which means I can dig soon. Last year I dug them, put them in a single layer in a shallow box and brought them into the house. EVERY SINGLE ONE turned green! What did I do wrong and how can I prevent that from happening this year??

  2. Ice plants are my favorite ground cover. The flowers are so pretty and they bloom a lot when they do!
Laura – Do you water the seeds every day or when you see them germinating? (Never mind you answered it in the video) 😊

  3. Hi Laura- people say you’re hard working, I am too. However, you are exceptionally competent- that’s your trick! 🌸🌸🌸

  4. As a black thumb gardener I marvel at your gardening skills and oh how I wish I could move as fast as you do sometimes in your videos. lol
Love ice plants but so do my rabbits and squirrels. The ones I planted last year in my rock garden have survived but the 15 that I planted this year in a second garden area are now nubs in the ground at best and most were so badly damaged I am pretty sure they are goners

  5. When I see your squash plants just wish you would pick the flowers early in the morning rinse them off. Let them dry on paper towels make a pancake batter dip flowers after you separated the petals them in about an inch of oil until crispy. Take them out. Set them on paper towels to drain put it on fresh bread with mayonnaise and tomatoes. It is the best thing ever and it’s a cool light breakfast or lunch or dinner meal. You’re welcome.😂❤❤

  6. Aloha Laura and Aaron. I’m on vaca in Waikiki we went to see a waterfall yesterday very beautiful area. I came upon a beautiful plant with some flowers hanging from it wow it was pretty thing is is this real or fake I touched it and it’s kinda hard. Still is this real or fake so I followed it all the way to the plant yes it’s real. I always thought the island were all lush. My son says there’s the wet which is on the other side the dry where we are at and extremely dry where the Aulani hotel is at. If you haven’t been to this hotel you need to go it’s beautiful. There’s a koi pond there the fish are Hugh. Today we are going to the north shore

  7. Ice plant is super invasive in California. Hope folks check Cal-IPC (or your local invasive plant site) before planting any ice plant in your area. They heavily displace riparian plants that contribute to the food web, especially near waterways.

  8. We have done the purple beans for years now and we love them.. last couple years we planted wax beans and love seeing the mixture of the beans when cooked the purple does turn a darker green. And the purple beans don't reproduce as many as the green varieties but still fun to grow!!

  9. I love how you update us from one video to the next video. We love where you put the fountain, too. 😊❤

  11. They're a succulent? Is that why Firespinner still isn't flowering for me? I water my pots and new plantings everyday but the foliage looks green and happy!

  12. Have just gotten some mache corn salad seeds! It says tenderest salad greens ever! Raw or cooked. Hard to believe it actually says hardy down to 10* F‼️For spring and FALL planting. 60 days!!! And NO OXALATES ✔️😁

  13. Laura thank you for this video beautiful plants and a good feeling the raised beds are planted . The swallow tail caterpillar always eat my dill and the carrot tops. I hope you don't spray them if they eat yours. I planted milkweed this year also for the butterflies.
    Take care Laura.

  14. I looked up our average first frost date…..Jan 11 – 20! LOL Of course, I'm in Orlando, FL, so it does take a while…..

  15. Did you ever get around to scattering your zinnia seeds in the cold frames in front of the Hartley?? I’m so looking forward to seeing all those lovely blooms framed by the stately elegance of your Hartley.

  16. Fluff is so important, and you can never have enough fluff!😊 Thanks for the info on direct seeding fall crops.

  17. I saw someone on YouTube (Zoella) make a sweet pea teepee in her yard for her little ones. Samantha would surely love that I think.

  18. You are so organized! You made planting the raised beds look so easy! I try to be, doesn't always work though…lol. Loving the music in the videos too! I wish ice plants would be for us in zone 5a, they are so strikingly beautiful! Our dew points and temps have dropped this week, it's glorious!! Time to catch up in the gardens and yard.

  19. Do you ever bother to use inoculant on your peas and beans? Or do you think things get enough 'boost' from your Bio-tone and the later compost on top?

  20. Thanks Laura! I missed the boat on spring crops due to family emergency. Im going to do some now. Blessings from Ontario Canada 🙂

  21. Hi Laura, A time lapse would have been great on the Mangave Century plant, afterall they only bloom every 25-30 years. Be sure to pan the camera up and zoom in, I find them fascinating.
