In this crazy world, you are my entertainment. I look forward to your videos everyday, no matter how short or long. I love gardening and continue to add new things to my garden. I like that more of my experiments are working, losing less plants. We do, here in Atlanta, need more sun to get the begonias full again. I keep adding new ones to fill out beds. No rain issues this year just need a few dry days and more sunshine.
Question: Were you serious when you said you would like to redesign the area in front of your kitchen to include a pond and connect/open it to the fireplace area? That would be FANTASTIC!!!
Speaking about the possibility of maybe planting a low ground cover in the negative spaces on the West Side, how about planting Lamium in those spots now that the trees are getting bigger and casting shade? Would it get too much sun in the afternoon? I know you enjoy the Lamium you already have and it would be easy on the eyes there. Just a suggestion! I hope you all had a fun time at the fair! 🤗
I think it’s a convenience for US, as your viewers, that you have a store that sells your favorite things because it’s like a one-stop-gardening-supply-shop! I don’t mind it a bit when you give a little statement that “we carry this in the store” because it makes shopping/searching all the easier for me! 😂
Not sure if they were in you Galloway Urn but what's the name of the wire vines that cascades down its kind of dark small foliage. I like vinca but I'd love to get my hands on wire vines. Thx Laura
The comment about you being located in CT made me laugh. I live in CT and if he knew anything about New England than would realize you cannot dig a hole without having it be almost ALL ROCKS 😊
Laura, I am so with you. I have never been comfortable wearing gloves, hats, and socks. Just keep using your sunscreen. I am 79 years old now and still very active in my gardening
Love the idea of having the pond by the kitchen door after the Locas Tree comes out and incorporating the fire place area. Yes yes yes. Would be AWESOME
Well, a plant in soil outside dries at least 50% faster than a plant inside in a pot, probably faster than that. How does it not make sense?
The bigger the pot the longer is going to be wet, specially indoors. Outside you can get away with putting plants in a much bigger pot, specially in summer. Inside as well, but for example, I put a bunch of birds of paradise in a huge pot inside last year but at the beginning only watered the pot once every two months. Now this summer I had to water it once a week because they grew a bunch but at the beginning I had to let the root system develop and make sure it wasn’t too moist, specially in winter.
It’s all about the amount of roots the plant has and how moist and airy the soil is, and that’s very tricky to assess. That’s why many plant collectors use clear pots indoors.
There are many many factors that change all the time, like temperature and humidity, and outside wind etc. So the rule of going one size above in indoor plants is just a precaution measure to say. You can even overwater a plant that way, specially in winter. That’s why it’s usually advised to repot in spring/summer.
If you’ve got bindweed in a bed with other plants make a cone around the bindweed and spray with weedkiller, the cone prevents overspray onto your plants

Love the editing, love your approach on "selling", love the beekeeping idea. Another beautiful Sunday. Hope the fair was fun, I adore nostalgic things as well ❤
Such a fun video on a HOT, MUGGY, Sunday. I love the editing with Laura's expressions, and added little extras. I chuckle away! Oh, I wish I lived closer, would I LOVE to work for you! To be a part of your crew would be a dream. I also so appreciate that you don't push products, but focus on what you do…garden. I'm struggling with my lawn this year too. The heat and I think the drought last year has caused an explosion of crabgrass…GRRRRR. My superbena amethyst was glorious all summer, and now this week it has suddenly stopped blooming! I did give it a haircut, hoping it'll push new blooms again. It's the weirdest thing! I'm not surprised the kids love going by Grandma's. I would love to have her as a grandma too! It's good for you and Aaron to have alone time, and good for kids to spend special time with grandparents. Now that I've talked your ear off, I'll let you go to the Fair. Have a great time!!
Ok…being from the south (Louisiana) the superbenas that I’ve planted bloom like crazy in the spring but when summer rolls around (July/August) they suffer…..our nights rarely get below 80 degrees and that is only for a short while, so they don’t get a break. Good thing here though, they come back every year !! (So does my potato vine)

Hibiscus! I love mine but the deer eat them down to the ground! Boo!!!
Don’t even kid yourself! It is just very early August. 🔥🔥🔥

I’ve read that style of lawn edging called “English trench”
Do you trim your lavender mid-season? Trying to decide what to do with the spent bloom stems.
I’ve discovered terra cotta pots and ferns don’t agree with each other. Terra cotta saps water from the soil.
They moved our fair to July! Way too hot!
The Rustoleum can slowly creeping into view while you're ducking down to look for it is hilarious! I needed the silly moment in my day!
Would Bethany be open to doing an update on the things she takes back to her place? It would be fun to see.

I think that you all should just put together a whole video of mishaps!😂😂😂
I thought Ken was older too😂
Thanks Aaron and Laura!

I love that you are protecting your body for the long term and iis such good information to share, thank you!
I love that you pare down questions to ones that otherwise could be answered by googling. Thank you–always informative!
I am 65 and just bought the 4 inch Laura auger. I love it! Wish I had bought it uears ago.Thank you.

At 36:20, isn’t that the circle boxwood hedge you were going to tear out but did a severe cutback instead? They look SOooo good!!! 🥳🤩
Voles generally won't set up in your horse pasture as the vibrations of the horses feet will deter them.
Love, love, love your editors, sense of humor with the rust-oleum paint can sneaking up on Laura! LOL ❗️
Gloves and hats are torture for me. I sweat enough as it is.
Laura, It's probably a Grey Jay
Ohio has all the Jay's
And Cardinals ❤
Love this channel.
Ten years here.
Thank you both.
It's lovely Laura ❤
Your new seating on the westside reminds me of the Tuileries Gardens in Paris. Very cosmopolitan and European. Lovely!
Guys how about the Balcony Garden? That way you get some use out of the balcony. Or the Column garden? Instead of Versailles…
Laura, do you ever use self watering pots? Could be great for the fern in the room, that way you don’t have to water her everyday.
The editing on the Rust-o-leum can was delightful – I laughed out loud. What is your favorite fair food?
Our bind weed and wild morning glory are not the same. The morning glory has larger and more heart shaped leaves. Both drive me nuts!!
Laura would you consider making a green roof on your balcony? There is probably a lot involved to it. Thank you Laura bless you

Loved the video editing today! 😂
Can’t wait to watch the hibiscus tour!

Pink Cashmere SuPERBENA. Very SLOW both North Carolina and Connecticut this year

I would think the cats would take care of the voles.
The rustoleum can coming up into the picture! Hahaha!
Enjoy the fair!
For future reference that heat measuring thing is called a pyrometer pronounced pie rhom eter

Maybe someday you will move closer to the coast where gardening is easier. You do so well with your harsh conditions.
Maybe you should create a line of self-watering pots for house plants that require tons of water so you don’t have to water them as often. 😁
