This is my biggest plant right now. It's been slow growing because of the weather and it got attacked by slugs a few times but survived
Is it to late now or should I hold on to hope?
Unfortunately I think it’s too late unless we get a nice burst of heat going forward.
I’m in the same boat, all my squash either hasn’t started swelling or the little buds were destroyed by slugs before they got going.

I’m a bit lost with this. I am not too sure what sort of squash is the butternut in terms of hardiness. I planted courgettes which im harvesting now but I also planted pumpkins that should be harvested around Halloween for the kids to carve.
Long story short, I hope it’s not too late for my “winter” squash

Yea not a hope sorry to say, that border isn’t nearly big enough for a squash plant either I’m afraid and the shade from that wall won’t help things. Next year could you get a huge tub somewhere (like huge huge) to plant on in a more open sunny spot?
